A: Later this year it will debut as a 2007 model – Acura also announced that on April 12, at the New York International Auto show it will display a “concept” version of the 2007 MDX. A: People usually put a new intake on their SUVs in order to get more horsepower for towing or going faster. I would not consider an MDX a performance SUV. I would think that it already has enough horsepower for what it was designed for. Therefore, I would not recommend buying any intake. Some states also regulate intakes as part of emissions laws.

Introduction
The Acura MDX offers an outstanding V6 powertrain, seven-passenger seating and an all-wheel-drive system. Interesting styling, attention to detail, excellent crash protection and competitive pricing increase the appeal of this luxury SUV.
The MDX is offered in a single trim level, powered by a 3.5-liter, 253-hp V6 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Standard safety features comprise the required dual-stage front airbags, three-point seatbelts and adjustable head restraints for all seating positions and child safety seat anchors (LATCH) in rear seats. In addition, fitted to all MDXs are front seat-mounted side airbags and side curtain airbags covering all three rows of seats. I was recently in a car accident with my 2005 MDX, and have been looking for a new car since. I saw a certified used 2004 MDX SUV for a good deal, but I was wondering if there will be a big downgrade from the ‘05 to the ‘04 model.
Does anyone know the safety/design differences between the new car? Does the ‘04 model have the same headlights/rear lights (the ‘05 have a silver tint which is a big bonus for me, I like the futuristic elements of it)

This year the MDX receives standard XM Satellite Radio, a Bluetooth hands-free cell phone interface on Touring models, a larger fuel tank and an enhanced stability control system. The optional rear entertainment system now includes an in-dash six-disc CD changer, and the navigation system has an enhanced database. I guess I have to agree, Its better that a lexus rx, or a Infinity QX56 and Honda pilots. I have to like it better than anything but a Land Cruiser and that is a real different kettle of fish. Any thoughts?
A: The MDX and the RX are best of the bunch, but I prefer the MDX because it looks good, and you get lots of standard equipment that might not come with the RX. Also, for every MDX you see, you will also see ten other RX’s; the MDX does have a unique look to it.

A: It really depends on where you live.
Say you live in Hawaii where there is one Acura dealership, they can be going OVER MSRP.
But say you live in Southern California where there are hundreds of Acura dealerships they go for about $500 over invoice.
Q: 2006 Acura MDX…buyout lease or buy new SUV?
I’m currently leasing an 06 Acura MDX with 10,000 mi a yr. I’m very happy with it. My lease ends in April, 09. So far I’ve only used 16,000 and I know I won’t go over the mileage. I would like to pay less per month than I do now, but when I look at similar SUVs, their just too expensive. The residual price on the contract is $23,000. I don’t think I’ll find another luxury SUV for under $23,000. I’m just not sure if it’s a wise choice to just try and negotiate the price of my SUV and just finance it???
A: Buy another SUV. You won’t find another luxury SUV for under $23,000, but you can trade in your lease like any other vehicle and end up making money on it.
With that amount of miles, you may end up getting more than the residual value on a trade.
I would never buyout a lease because you end up paying way more than you should by the time it is paid off.

A: There is quite a bit of price between these. What is your price limit?
The Lexus GX470 will run you $65-$70K new.
the Honda Pilot will cost you under $30K.
The other 2 are in-between those amounts.
If you have money to burn, get the Lexus….otherwise, get the Honda. Best SUV in that class for the money.

The optional SH-AWD ( Super handling all wheel drive) system is very advanced, a provides safer driving too. Spacious car, but a firm ride. Not as soft on the road as the Lexus 350.

-Sporty feel, great performance figures
-a very tech and modern look to the overall image of the car.

What’s the Verdict?
IF you want a car that performs well with a great modern look, go for the ACURA MDX.
IF you want a car that is comfortable with lots of space, and great on gas, then go for the LEXUS 350.

A: I have an MDX and I love it. Its a great car, handles well, nice styling. As far as gas mileage goes it doesn’t do too bad. In town it gets around 17mpg, but on long trips or highway driving it gets around 22-25mpg. I personally want to upgrade to an X5 but they are kinda expensive. If you have the 45k plus to spend on an SUV go for the X5, otherwise go for the MDX. It truly is a GREAT car! =)

Does anyone have a recommendation for a 7 seater SUV or crossover that gets reasonable gas mileage? No mini-vans please.
We currently have an Acura MDX with the third row seat, which is nice, but we are only getting about 16 mpg as its used mainly for local driving. Looking for ideas for something similar, but with better mileage.
