Q: What would cause a 2007 Escalade power seat malfunction?
We purchased a 2007 Escalade last night and on our way home we noticed that the passenger power seats do not work at all and a few functions do not work on the drivers side as well. What would cause this and how can we fix it?
The heated and cooled seats on both sides are also inoperable.

A: check loose connection under the seat specially the connector,maybe somebody removed the seat before & wiring connector not fix properly.

Q: Why would a 1999 Cadillac Escalade with an automatic transmission jerk when changing gears?
Every now and then my Escalade with an automatic transmission will jerk when switching gears. Not all the time. It also misses/studders and backfires sometimes. Could this be caused by the same thing or two different issues? Transmission? Fuel pump?

A: have your spark plugs and wires checked
check ignition coils
make sure you have transmission fluid
if all of that is fine, get a mechanic

Q: Is there a way to make Escalade windows roll all the way down?
I have a 2000 Cadillac Escalade and the rear windows only go down 1/3 – 1/4 of the way. is there a simple way to make it to where the windows can go all the way down?

I have a 2005 Cadillac Escalade but it is missing the navigation disc. I’ve found multiple discs on ebay and want to purchase one but I’m not sure which disc will work. A: Take the cost of fuel in your area and go by.The base and the AWD models have a 26 gallon fuel tank.The ESV model has a 31 gallon tank.The base MPG on the Escalade is rated at 13 city and 19 hwy.Best of luck.

Q: What are the pros and cons of a Cadillac Escalade?
To the people that own or have owned the Cadillac Escalade, what are the ups and downs?

I am considering buying one and I would LOVE to hear from you!

A: Pros:
Comfortable vehicle with plenty of seats.
Nice riding, driving, with good turning radius.
4-wheel drive at the push of a button (nice in the snow)
Fairly safe vehicle
Reliabilty (Mine has 145.000 miles) No major breakdowns
Plenty of power if you need to haul or tow something.

Cons:
Terrible gas mileage 10-12 MPG city 12-14 highway
Above average cost to service because it is a Cadillac
Dirty looks from hybrid car owners!

I would buy one again (except for the gas mileage, we use our as a third car on long trips or when we need all of the seats) but look for a used one. 1 to 3 years old with low miles you will save that hit you take when you drive it off the lot. Make sure you get a Carfax report if you buy used.

Q: Do you need an aftermarket deck in a 2004 Cadi Escalade if your getting subs?
I have a 2004 Escalade and getting subs. Would i need an aftermarket deck to control the subs/amp ?

A: no but it is highly recommended because it will produce better signal transfer and higher outputs. a stock stereo will work but you will get the signal from the speakers and that will not be clean signal.

Q: Why would a 1999 Cadillac Escalade miss/stutter and backfire when accelerating?
Every now and then my Escalade will miss/stutter and backfire when accelerating. Not all the time, yet when it does it, it does it for a week or so at a time. Any idea what could cause this? Fuel pump/intake maybe?

A: The plugs, wires and possibly the coil needs to be changed. While you are at it, change the fuel filter.

Q: How much longer do i generally have on a 1999 escalade?
Just got a 1999 escalade with 190,000 miles on it. About how much more life does he have? I don’t drive rough, and the oil has been changed every 2,500 miles. I understand this is a very tough question to answer, i guess im just wondering if anyone else has seen them hit 300,000, too.

A: It uses a standard Chevrolet small-block engine (Vortec 5.7L). These are the most durable V8 engines on the market. They have been in production since the 50’s and only recently went out of production, 2000 I believe.

If anything it’s going to be the components that fail before the engine, things like the head gasket will go before the piston rings go. But generally you will get well over 250,000 miles on one of those engines. Things like your fuel injectors or accessories (power steering pump, waterpump, etc) may begin to get old. Depending on how you drove your truck the transmission may or may not have lots of life left in it.

I have 2 of those engines just older editions. I have 94 and 95 Suburbans. The 94 engine died at 265,000+ miles because my sister ran it during Illinois winters with too little oil and improper anti-freeze mixture in the radiator. It killed 2 cylinders. However, I was able to drive that Suburban from Chicago to Riverside, CA to Lodi, CA with no problems other than rough idling, despite 2 dead cylinders.

On my 95, at 285,000+ miles the headgasket finally failed causing 1 cylinder to stop firing. We decided to buy a new Chevy engine for that truck. And the old engine is getting a new headgasket and being installed on the 94 Suburban because it still has plenty of life left in it even at 285,000+ miles. The 95 is still running on the original transmission while the 94 got a new transmission after 260,000+ miles. It also has the original powersteering and the waterpump failed around 284,000+ miles right before the head gasket failed.

Since the engine out of the 95 is going to continue to live on, I expect to eventually see it hit 300,000 miles.

Keep in mind, I didn’t exactly change my oil religiously every 3000 miles. This truck also wasn’t babied at all, I use my trucks as trucks.lol

I’d say you got plenty of life left in your Escalade. You should get to at least 250,000 miles. There are plenty of people who have gotten way more than 300,000 miles out of their GM trucks. Just google million mile chevrolet truck and you’ll find a recent story about some guy who has a Chevy truck (same engine as your Cadillac just not sequential fuel injection) who did 1,000,000 miles on the original engine without any rebuilds. (though he said the transmission was rebuilt or replaced a few times.lol)

Q: What percentage tint comes factory stock on the rear windows of the 2007 Escalade EXT?
I have a 2007 Escalade EXT and want to get the front windows tinted. The rear windows came tinted from the factory, but I don’t know the percentage of visibility.

Basically my question is, What is the visibility percentage on the factory rear windows of the 2007 Escalade EXT?

Q: How do i open the hood if hood latch is broken 2000 escalade??
The hood latch is broken on my 2000 escalade and the battery is dead!! Any ideas of how to get it open?

A: You may have to take the grill apart to gain access to the hood release mechinism. And then you may have to remove the bolts from the mechinism to fully open hood. Then put it all back together when done. However if its the interior latch thats broken you may be able to use a pair of pliers to pull on the cable itself. Either way good luck.

Q: How many seats are in a Cadillac Escalade?
I saw a picture of one of those things and dang, those are HUGE!! And no I’m not thinking of getting one, like I could afford one anyway, because I’m sure it isn’t exactly good on fuel. Anyway, back to my question, how many (including the driver) fit into a Cadillac Escalade?

A: There are 7 with bucket seating in the 2nd row and 8 with a sofa 2nd row. There is a lot of leg space.
