Q: How to bypass traction control on a 2010 silverado?
On my 2010 Chevy Silverado, I can shut the traction control off by the switch but it will automatically re-engage itself if my tires are spinning. Is there anyway to bypass the traction control?
A: Each wheel has a wheel speed sensor built into the hub. The car determines when to engage the traction control based on the input of those sensors. You cannot just cut the wires to the sensors or you will have big problems. What you would do is create a very large wire harness that basically takes the signal from one wheel sensor and sends it to the on-board computer as the rest of the wheel sensors. This will give the computer the illusion of each wheel spinning at the same rate and thus no need for TCS to engage. This has been a somewhat common thing for late 90s Cadillac STS owners to do to drag race since when TCS is disabled it also disables 1st gear.
Q: Is it possible to change the color of the gauges on a 2010 silverado?
I want to change the color from green to perhaps red, but I don’t want to have to buy and install a gauge cluster kit or something. Could I just buy a bulb or something like that?
A: Unfortunately, that green is actually a film on the back of the dash, so while a bulb WILL change the color, it will be ridiculously dark, and red and green light wavelengths destroy each other.
Q: Can you use unleaded gas in a 2010 Chevy Silverado that says “Flex Fuel” on the back of the truck?
I know its a silly question, but we are renting it. Ive never driven a flex fuel vehicle before and Im just afraid to put the wrong kind in and mess it up. I know you can use different types of fuel in a flex fuel vehicle, but I really want to be sure. Thank you!
A: yes you can use either e-85 or regular unleaded either will do you will get more mpg from regular unleaded than from e-85
Q: How do I hook Up a amp to my stock radio in a 2010 chevy silverado?
A: get a Line Output Converter
Q: Is a 2009/2010 Chevy Silverado a good truck to buy?
I’m planning to buy a truck. I found a 2009 one for 17,000 new. Is it worth it?
i just checked my dealer and they said 17,000.
i don’t know why the other ones are like 30,000
A: Absolutely, good warranty that is backed by the gubment, they ride better than the Ford’s and the Dodge’s and get better fuel economy too. I have owned several Chevy’s over the years and I have never regretted it.
Q: How many miles can you drive with your fuel light on in a 2010 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3 V8 engine?
A: on average you mpg is probabyl atound 15 mpg
usually the gas light comes on wityh 2-3 gallons left in tank
so 2 x 15mpg = 30 miles to be safe at most
good luck
Q: Please help me compare the 2010 Chevy Avalanche vs. the 2010 Chevy Silverado.?
Hello! I am interested in both the 2010 Chevy Avalanche and the Silverado. Please help me choose which one would be best. I am looking for comparisons on price, practicality, and design. Thanks!
A: The avalanche is a useless poorly designed truck buy the crew cab pickup. do you want to haul anything? imagine driving with no rear wall or glass just to haul any real cargo, ought to be fun in the winter or on a dusty road. If you want the wind in your hair get the sunroof it’s still cheaper! If you aren’t a rap star get the silverado
Q: Does anyone know what dealership’s pay for the new 2010 silverado?
More specifically the 2wd, crew cab, 5.3liter LT.
A: take the bottom line of the sticker/the very last number and subtract 24% you will be within a few dollars of actual invoice
Q: 2010 Chevy Silverado Question?
Purchased a New 2010 Silverado LTZ. It has 3,360 miles on it. Have a question about a noise I’m hearing. Only when I’m on the Highway and going over 55 mph. I hear a crackle like sound coming from the passengers side up close to the windshield. I have had passengers say they hear it too, but I can’t figure out what it is. Anyone have any ideas or have heard of this?
A: It could be a weather stripping issue. Your best bet is to take it back to the dealer and have them look at it under warranty.
Q: 2010 Silverado 1500 3.42 to 4.10 gear swap?
I have a 2010 Silverado 1500 Z71 with the 6 sp and 5.3 L and pulling a 3 horse slant trailer (3100 empty, 6000-7000 loaded) and was curious if swapping out my 3.42 rear end to 4.10 would be worth it since I will be pulling this trailer regularly. I realize I would take a hit on mpgs when its empty but that is not a concern. I was thinking less strain on the drive train as well as have a GM dealer install it (if they would even?). Any thoughts, questions or comments?
A: It will let the engine work easier. If it’s two wheel drive, should only cost $500 or so, including parts, & any garage should be able to do the work. While you’re in there, is traction a problem ?? Might think of a limited slip differential, also. The truck is new enough that you might be able to get the speedometer re-calibrated, so it shows the correct speed, after the swap.

Q: 2010 Chevrolet Camaro or 2010 Chevrolet Silverado?
Should I get a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro or a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado?
A: If you want to compare based on sheer power the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS has an engine that produces 426 horsepower. The 2010 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ 1500 has an engine that puts out 403 horsepower. The Silverado can tow up to 10,700 pounds. The Camaro comes standard with a manual transmission. The Camaro is new for the 2010 model year and there are a few changes for the 2011 model year. The Silverado is also receiving a few changes for 2011. Overall they are both very good and reliable vehicles.

Q: will a hitch for a 2004 chevrolet silverado2500 fit on a 2010 chevrolet silverado?
A: Probably not. There was a major change between those years.
Q: how do replace headlight bulbs in a 2010 silverado?
new piaa replacement
A: Step
1
Engage the parking brake on your Chevy Silverado and remove the keys from the ignition. This eliminates the possibility of your truck rolling while you’re changing the headlight bulb.
Step
2
Open the hood by first releasing the interior latch located on the driver’s side below and to the left of the steering column. Walk around to the front of the car and pull up on the secondary release latch in the center underneath of the hood.
Step
3
Locate the pin or pins that hold the headlight assembly in place. Your truck may have two pins that run vertically or one pin that runs horizontally. If your truck has two pins, remove them by turning each of them counterclockwise and pull them up and out. To remove a singular horizontal pin, turn the pin up and then pull it straight out, horizontally.
Step
4
Pull the headlight assembly out of the front of your Chevy Silverado. Detach the electrical connector from the headlight assembly.
Step
5
Remove the old bulb with a counterclockwise turn and pull it out of the headlight assembly. Install the new headlight bulb by turning it clockwise until it is tight and secure. Use replacement bulb #9005 for the high beam or #9006 for the low beam.
Step
6
Retrace the previous steps to reinstall your headlight assembly. Reinstate the pin or pins into their previous position and lock them into place. Turn the vertical pins clockwise and turn the horizontal pin down.
Step
7
Turn your Chevy Silverado on and check that the headlights are working properly.
