Q: who is the man who does the tundra truck advertisement? is it sam elliot?
who does the tundra truck advertisement on tv? is it sam elliot?

A: Yes. That is Sam Elliot. VERY unique voice and I worked on a movie with him in 1989. I’m am 100% positive it’s him.

From your friendly Toyota Salesperson

Q: Chevrolet Silverado and Toyota Tundra Truck Question Please Help?
For the Chevrolet Silverado what is the difference between the 1500, 2500, and the 3500 and which one do you like more? and what kind of truck should I get a Chevrolet or a Toyota Tundra?
Also for the chevrolet Silverado what is the difference between the WT, LT, and the LTZ?
I do not want a ford or any other truck I specifically said Chevrolet and Toyota

A: WT, LT, and LTZ are different trim levels.

WT ( work truck) is the base trim.
LT is a higher trim level.
LTZ is the top trim with leather, power this, power that….

1500 = 1/2 ton
2500 = 3/4 ton
3500 = 1 ton

They tell you the payload.

They originally indicated the maximum payload of the vehicle, however modern pickups can typically carry far more than that.

The Tundra and the Silverado 1500 are excellent 1/2 trucks. I would suggest you drive both. The truck market is more competitive than ever. People tell you “Toyota can’t make a real truck” or “American trucks are made like crap” are fanboys. I’ve driven every truck on the market. They’re all impressive and have tons to offer.

Q: how many miles per gallon does a 2007 toyota tundra truck with the 5.7 get when towing a 7000 pound trailer?
The truck has a crewmax cab.

A: If you see double digits you are probably lucky.

Q: Toyota Tundra truck severely worn front tire after an alignment–is something wrong or did mechanic screw up?
Had tires put on about a year ago, now tire is very worn. If it has something broken can it be fixed by a back yard mechanic?

A: What everyone else said, But, If the alignment was out I would think BOTH front tires would wear. You may have a broken belt in that tire. I bought some crappy Wal Mart tires and that happened to me. Took about a year, too. If the wear is all weird and uneven, its probably a broken steel belt. Any tire store can tell you.

Q: To those who use a pick up truck as a work truck, what is your opinion/experience with the Toyota Tundra?
Is the Tundra a better work truck than a Ford, Dodge or GM truck. Assuming all are made in America, what is your preference that makes you have brand loyalty? What is your story? Is it the miles? The toughness of the truck? What specifically?

A: GM products are easier to change wires plugs . diesels don’t even have that though filters have to be changed and thats easier.

Q: When do I need to change / replace the timing belt on my 2005 Toyota Tundra 4 Door V8 Limited truck?
At what mileage do I need to replace the timing belt on my 2005 Toyota Tundra V8 4 door Limited truck?

A: Hi, according to the two Tundra forums I checked, the timing belt needs to be changed at 90K miles intervals. Failure to do so could result in significant engine damage should the belt break while the engine is running due to valves hitting pistons. It is also recommended that if you are going to keep the truck you might want to consider changing the water pump which apparently is behind the timing belt. It is a major job to change the timing belt and if the water pump should fail at say 100K you will be spending twice the money, so maybe a good idea.

Glad I don’t own one of these because someone spent $1300 to have theirs changed! My old Dodge 318 V8 Timing chain went over 200K miles before I had to change that.

Q: How do I wire up factory fog lights on a 2006 Toyota Tundra Pickup Truck?

A: In these new cars there are always spare live cables for fog lights in front and rear as well. Just fit the lights, connecting cables are already there ever spare earth cable is also wired up to the switch inside, if not the body will work as earth. Check it with the meter or electric car screw drive with a clip will help you to find the right cables. It will be time consuming, do this job when you have nothing else to do, I am sure you will be through with patience.

Q: what is gonna be a better truck for 2007, toyota tundra or chevy silverado?
Both of these trucks are being redesigned for2007. Both have more power and both will be able to tow over 10,000 lbs. Which will be better? I’d say the Tundra. Look at the toyota and chevy websites and they will tell you about these tucks.

A: First of all, I dont know Y some of Y’all dissin tha dodge ram cuz its a Boasty van. Second, Altho u say chevy has been buildin vans b4 toyota n mayb dodge, but personally, I think that this silverado is a bag of bull5h1t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me say that if dodge wuz apart of this, I would say Dodge all the way, but because its only the tundra & Silverado, I would say without a doubt,
TOYOTA TUNDRA of course. I mean come on, this here van has mo features than a silverado (not as muchas a Ram), sure maybe less power in hp, but it power depends on the driver. I recommend highly the Tundra. And The Argument DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Q: I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra v8 The truck does not start everytime –Sometimes it clicks a few times?
I have a good battery and clean cables- It clicks a few times and then starts–I don’t see a starter–Where do I look for this problem?

A: The solenoid contacts are bad inside the starter. It is in a bad spot, under the intake manifold and requires the manifold to be removed to access the starter for replacement. You have to be real carefull not to drop anything down inside the manifold/engine. Good Luck–T&T

Q: Own a Tundra or other full-size truck? What is the best interior/exterior accessory?
I like having convenient “gadgets” and my truck is no exception. What do you like that is unique or handy?

A: Personally, I love the trip and fuel mileage computers. GPS units are Second,

Q: When is the appropriate time to change the timing belt on a 2000 Toyota Tundra 4×4 truck?

A: Before it breaks. Seriously, it’s in your owners manual under maintenance. Usually around 75k miles, but check to be sure.

Q: I have a 2002 Toyota Tundra. The truck shakes when I brake at any speed. What could cause this.?
I have changed tires. brakes and ball joints but it continues to shake. I have been on the forums looking and others have the same problem but no answers. Any ideas that I have not mentioned.

A: Do to lateral (in and out) run-out the brake rotors are causing your issue. Toyota dealerships charge an exorbitant amount to re-machine them back to a parallel position. See if there is anywhere else in town to have them trued back up. If you are the person that’s going to remove the rotors pull the brake caliper bracket off and use a one pound “persuader” maul to tap them loose from the back side.

Next time around clean up the inside of the rotors that faces the hub with a flat brush mounted on a mandrel powered with a battery or electric drill motor. Any hardware-store has thes inexpensive brushes. Clean up the face of the hub where the studs are also. Paint on a thin amount of never seize on the inside face of the rotors that meet the wheel studs. They’ll never stick from rusting again.

Q: What’s the biggest size tire a 00 Tundra can put on the truck w/out any lift kit on it or anything?
I would like to put the BF Goodrich A/T on it. The current size tire i have now is 265/70/R16’s.

A: You can use a 32×11.5×16″ tire, if you mount it on your stock
rim, the sidewalls will bulge out a little. You should not use
a tire too much larger or you will affect the wheel travel and
could cause rubbing when turning.

Q: Is and or why is the Tundra the only Toyota with 0% financing? I do not really need a truck as big as the Tu
Is and or why is the Tundra the only Toyota with 0% financing? I do not really need a truck as big as the Tundra but who can pass a Toyota with 0% financing? I was thinking of a stick shift (but I live in the Chicago area and there is only auto) v6 (cheaper and mpg) regular cab (cause it’s smaller and cheaper) 4×2 Tundra. Is the current Tundra made in Indiana? Other then the size and the fact the Tacoma has that plastic bed, I really don’t see any difference between them. Anything else I should know? I know this is a lot but thanks for reading.

A: Did you fall and hit your head recently or have you always been stupid???

Borrow money to buy a vehicle??? What are you NUTS? Cars lose value. NEVER borrow money to buy things that go down in value. That is just STUPID! ALWAYS pay CASH for cars. What’s that? you dont have that much cash? OH that means that you can’t afford it! Toyota trucks last a long time…just like american trucks last a long time. So…Why not buy a good used one? Take whatever amount of cash you have, add that to the value of your current vehicle…and PAY CASH for a good Used Toyota Tacoma in that price range. Then take that money you are thinking about making a payment with…and have your bank AUTOMATICALLY WITHDRAW that amount into a separate Savings account.

After you have enough cash saved in that account, PLUS the value of your current truck to pay cash for a New one…Then buy a NEW truck. Then start the cycle over saving cash for the next one.

This is how intelligent responsible adults do it. Children in Adults bodies who want it NOW finance cars. Be a Grownup with your money! Besides…They ride better when Paid for!

Q: What is the best truck Toyota Tundra or the Nissan Titian?

A: Go with the Toyota, you can’t go wrong! The Nissan is not even in the same league as the Toyota. Look at the resale value on both and you will see what I mean.

Q: Can you Plug in Laptop in 2010 Tundra’s USB port or its just for the Ipod?
Its a 2010 Tundra and has a USB port and AUX port

A: sadly its only for your Ipod/phone.

Q: What are some good tough chrome rims to put on a lifted 2010 toyota tundra?
I am looking for truck rims in the 18″ category for my truck. I am getting it lifted with 35″ mud terrain tires and need rim ideas. So if you could please help me out on some good brands.

A: you really shouldn’t put chrome with mud tires

try http://www.wheelfire.com/scontent/WheelDetails.cfm?IDNumber=XD796Revolver_MatteBlackfull&SKU=3341&VehicleMakeFinal=Toyota&VehicleYearFinal=2004&VehicleModelFinal=Tundra&VehicleOption=4×4%20SR5%20Double%20Cab%2FLimited&lift=2

Q: is there a way to turn bluetooth on and off in Toyota tundra 2010?
if there a way to turn the bluetooth on and off, because sometimes the bluetooth sign doesn’t show up.

A: owner’s manual? or maybe toyota’s website? hope this helped!

Q: Has anyone changed oil in a 2010 Toyota Tundra?
It does not have the spin on filter but and element filter. I know I have to take the skid plate off.
What size wrench do you need to take the bottom bolt off and the size of the oil filter wrench
to take the filter housing off?

A: no no dont do it,you need a special tool for this by toyota, weve tried other oil filter cup tools and they would work once or twice then it would just spin as the tool wears out,if you use a filter tool like a channel lock this can crack the housing(aluminum)and cost you big,you might even have to wait for the part,,,what i would do if you really want to do it yourself is go borrow it from a toyota tech, offer hi mmoney and leave him with something to make shure you will come back or better yet pay him to come to your place and get it loose, all you need is a regular extention to tighten it up from the middle afterward,,

Q: is it safe to buy a 2010 toyota tundra 4.6l 4×2 dbl cab v8?
I am planing on buying a 2010 toyota tundra and been hearing a lot of things about toyota. can you guys and ladies let me know if its safe to get a 2010 toyota tundra.

A: It is not recommended that you purchse this vehicle.

Here are the models affected by the Toyota recall:

• 2009-2010 RAV4,
• 2009-2010 Corolla,
• 2009-2010 Matrix,
• 2005-2010 Avalon,
• 2007-2010 Camry,
• 2010 Highlander,
• 2007-2010 Tundra,
• 2008-2010 Sequoia

I’d look into Honda. GL!

Q: What is the wheel bolt pattern on a 2010 toyota tundra?

A: based on the picture I say 5×100

but I cannot be positive.

Q: 2010 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Is Going To Have A 8.0l I-6 Diesel How Much Can It Tow?
Is It Gonna Tow Better Than Dodge,Chevrolet,Ford

A: Toyota has not mentioned any Diesel engine for the 2010 model of Tundra trucks yet. I do work for a Toyota dealership as a Fleet Manager. The Crew Max now has a towing capcity of 10,400 lbs with the 5.7 liter engine with 381 horsepower and 401 ft lbs of torque. Toyota now can out tow, out brake and out run any of it’s compitions except those 2500 and 3500 series truck with diesel engines for towing. Also it will hold it’s resale value better than the domestic trucks.

Q: Im looking into getting the 2010 tundra double cab 4.6 v8?
and was curious if anyone else has purchased this truck lately and if u got a good price on it due to sales probably not bein very high right now. I had a dealership quote me 24k and i said what about invoice and 23k and he said invoice would be ok. But im sure i can get a better deal than that. does anyone in the car business know a good price i can offer ?? serious answers only pls.

A: try to get tax, title, documents, fees (out the door price=OTD) for $23k n i wud be impressed

Q: How can I get the stereo to refresh my USB drive songs? (2010 Toyota Tundra)?
I had about 2 GB of songs on a USB drive that I have been playing through my 2010 Tundra USB port. I have added songs to the thumb drive but the stereo won’t “refresh” the list of songs to recognize the new songs. Help?
I have taken out the drive and put it back into the stereo. The stereo starts back with the same song that was playing when I removed the drive. Originally I pulled and plugged the drive in while the vehicle was off. Then I tried removing and plugging back in while the stereo was on — same thing — it just picked up playing the song that was playing before I removed the drive.
All the songs are MP3.

A: I’m assuming you’ve pulled the Drive and put it back in while the Truck is on and off?

It should refresh every time.

Are they all .mp3 and not some other file format?

Q: 2010 Toyota tundra insurance?
Any of you who own a 2010 toyota tundra I wanted to know how much do you pay for your insurance?

A: Help yourself – you can check your quotes in internet, for example here – autoinsurance.bebto.com

Q: Does the 2010 Toyota Tundra have a ‘Bed bounce issue’?
I heard that 2007 and 2008 models have a problem on highways and bumpy roads that makes there bed bounce. is that true on the 2010 model?

A: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1j3PWGRrCZ4
american trucks go through extreme testing. all succeed.

a drive down the highway:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dhz6CZF4aY&feature=PlayList&p=1BB95DBD1C59827D&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=4

problem is so rediculouse people use pool noodle to hold the thing together. it is not for a joke, its actually what the people do. it doesnt fix the problem, just prevents the box from scratching up the cab while driving down the freeway.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gcvn-_Ktli8

what to expect when a toyota truck is 3 years old:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INujD8kuc5s
frame rot is already on well maintained 2007 trucks. toyota owners are complaining as they are not yet covered. in 3 years time it will occur on the 2010 aswell. no changes have been made. same poor material.

yes, dont want to sit on your tailgate either. 200 lbs will bend it.
http://www.bodyshopzone.com/editorial/about_Toyota/image006.jpg
manual warns to remove tailgate before loading anything in truck bed. also says not to drive with tailgate down. the cables supporting its own weight causes it to buckle.

and do not forgett their transmission failures.

its just one big laugh. thats japanese quality, right there!

Q: I want to take my 2010 Tundra 5.7 to the fontana speedway.?
One of the regulations is a neutral safety switch. Does it come stock or do i really need it? (yes i know its a truck but im not trying to race anyone just trying to see track times)

A: Yes, your 2010 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L V8 iForce will have a neutral safety switch. It became standard and it is difficult to bypass. Have fun at the track.

Q: what is a better vechile a 2007-2010 toyota tundra or a 2010 mustang?

A: Both are very well built, my brother has owned a Tundra since early ‘08 when he purchased it new, and already has nearly 50k miles on it, including farm use, HEAVY towing (26′ Big Game fishing boat on weekends, livestock trailers during the week) and has had no problems.

My uncle owns a 2009 Mustang, which has little mechanical difference from the 2010 model, and has had no issues.

Which is better will depend entirely upon what you need it to do. If you need towing ability and an open cargo space, the Tundra will obviously be better for you. If cargo capacity isn’t important, the Mustang will ride better and get a few more mpg over the Tundra.

Q: 2010 tundra 4.6 engine?
Does the new 4.6 Toyota Tundra engine have short skirt pistons like the 5.7 engine.

A: 6.2 engine
http://media.photobucket.com/image/gmc denali/mgentryd/Denali.jpg

Q: do you think the 2010 toyota tundra is better than the 2010 ford raptor?

A: lets see, the tundra is the ugliest truck ive ever seen. there is a little piece of plastic above the grill that wiggles around, really toyota? wtf. the raptor is supposed to be an offroad truck, tundra is onroad truck. you cant really compare the two. but if i were to get a new truck, i would probably get the 2009-2010 dodge ram 1500

Q: Toyota Tundra?
I own a Toyota Tundra and it runs great, but when I turn on the A/C and Im driving around and I come to a stop,it kills sometimes. Why? And what can I do to fix this?

A: I had to respond to the punk about the Titan is better.
My office building is located in a urban area and I drive through a slummy area, I see lots of Titans because Nissan markets towards people who consider themselves Urban and to youth. The Titan is very cheap in around my area so that helps young “ballerz” pick one up to make them feel better about their manhood. But yet, I have seen plenty of them with their hoods up on the side of the road, for no reason? or for a reason of engineering? hmm….. How many Toy’s that are only a year old do you see parked and getting constantly worked on?

Also why would you buy a Nissan when they have the lamest lawsuit going on?
read more of their lawsuit and how they really feel about their loyal customers.

www.nissan.com
www.digest.com
www.nissan.net

Q: toyota Tundra?
Are toyota tundra offered in australia yet and where i want one

A: good question, no idea….might want to check toyota website.

Q: Is a 2006 Toyota tundra a good vehicle to buy?
I bought a 2006 toyota tundra recently. Is this a reliable vehicle?

A: I’ve sold Tundras and Silverados. Your truck is the last year of that body style and absolutely has the bugs worked out. It doesn’t have the best turning radius but other than that and looking different, it’s a winner. Check out a Consumer Reports or Edmunds online. The proof is in the pudding. These Tundras have less problems than all other makes. As far as towing and payload capacity, they aren’t the clear winners, but to answer your question about reliability, it takes the gold.

Q: How do you replace the headlight assembly on a 2000 toyota tundra?
I have a 2000 toyota tundra SR5 v8. I want to replce the fogged headlights that are on there now with new ones. How do you replce the entire assembly? I have removed all screws and connections with exception of one, and I have no idea how to get to it. Can someone give me step by step directions please?
I have searched all over the net and can’t find anything

A: I would recommend checking a manual for your vehicle. You can usually buy a Haynes Manual from most auto parts stores for around $20 or order a Chiltons Manual for around $50, with the Chiltons manual being a lot more detailed.

Many libraries will also carry a manual, so you may be able to check one out without having to buy one.

Q: How do you replace a rear axle bearing on a 2002 Toyota Tundra?
On my 2002 Toyota Tundra, the left rear axle seal is leaking and I need to know if I have to replace the bearing because of the leaking. It doesn’t have ABS. Also, is the o-ring and the seal all I have to replace (except possibly the bearing)? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

A: Don’t know toyota axles, but the seal & the bearing is usual. Also, check the rear brake pads, could be oil soaked. If they were soaked, don’t save them – get new….

Q: How much would a 2007 Toyota Tundra cost a month?
I’m almost 18 and I’m server at a restaurant, my mother said she would be my co-signer so i’m set on that but i was wondering how much a 2007 Toyota Tundra would cost me if i started monthly payments at 18 years old. (crew cab of course) i’m planning on lifting the sucker as well

A: Too many variables. Go to kbb.com and see what they retail for in your area. determine the amount you can put down and then figure that since you are 18, and haven’t much credit history, that you will have a low FICO score (credit rating) even with a co-signer. That means a higher interest rate – perhaps 9% or more. There are lots of on-line payment calculators.
Do not – repeat, DO NOT – max yourself out on the purchase price. You will have insurance issues – over $100 a month, maybe more if you get a bank loan and they require full coverage. Then there is gas and maintenance to consider. So, make a budget to see what you can afford. You may want to think of an older model for now so you can save up a bit towards a nice truck later. The Tundra gets only fair mileage so make a generous gas budget unless you have friends who readily are known to chip in for gas. Good luck.

Q: How can i make my 2007 toyota tundra sound louder?
I have a 2007 toyota tundra and i was trying to figure out how other trucks sound so “mean”. i have everything stock as in performance wise and i was told to get an exhaust tip to get that rumble sound and sound more like the mean truck it is. but then reading some other post people say exhaust tips dont make it any louder. any recommendations?

A: Hi, if you want to get more information about it, go to http://cars-2009.synthasite.com/?q=toyota

Q: How can I remove my stereo on my 2001 toyota tundra?
I have a toyota tundra 2001 and I need to remove the stereo but the’re hidden screws or claps that I need to know so I wont brake my dash trying to take out my stereo.

A: The screws are kind of hidden, they are inside the heat vents towards the top, if you point the vents up all the way you will be able to see them, then all you need to do is remove the knobs for the climate control, and there will be screws located there. After that just pry the cover off(gently). The radio is held in with another 4 screws.

Q: My Toyota Tundra overheats but there does not appear to be a leak. What could be the problem?
I recently started having this overheating problem with my Toyota Tundra. There is a lot of steam and air when I try to put water in. It also to boils over. It usually takes several minutes before it finally settles down and accepts water. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

A: Have you checked to make sure that a hose hasn’t collapsed. Sometimes when hoses get old they get weak and when the system is under pressure and heat they collapse. That would be where I start. If your hoses are fine then I would replace the thermostat, then go on to the water pump the impeller on the pump may be worn and not pumping the full amount. You could have a plug in the radiator or heat core as well.

Q: What kind of battery should I get for my 2001 toyota tundra?
I have a 2001 toyota tundra with the 4.7 V8 I’m just wondering what is the right size & brand of battery I should get?
Thanks!

A: If I am not mistaken it is a 585 CCA batt.
Depending if you have the cold package or not.
Make sure you get the proper batt or it will not fit in and hold down.
The Toyota replacement batt has a 86 month warranty and is compatible in price, I would recomend that.

Q: What is the average cost to fix the timing belt on a Toyota Tundra?
I got a 2001 V8 Toyota Tundra that needs to have a time belt replaced. What is the average cost to get that fixed.

Thanks

A: parts alone are not that cheap for that model im guessing in the 400 to 600 range

Q: What is the exterior square footage of an ‘06 Toyota Tundra?
I’m trying to do vinyl wrap on an ‘06 Toyota Tundra and can’t find the sqft of the exterior. Any help would be great!

A: Just a guess around 200 .
It should be measured to be on the safe side.

Q: Is there supost to be a transmision dipstick on a 2006 toyota tundra with a 4.7v8 engine?
I’m missing my transmissionsn dipstick on my 2006 toyota tundra v8 4.7whichh I just bout a short timeago, and I wanted to check my transmision fluid and I noticed that I had no Dip stick to check it. I was woundering if it had one and should have someone look at it.

A: On that particular vehicle there is no dipstick. There is a fill plug and an overflow plug on the transmission itself. To fill the transmission, you must use the Toyota manufacturer’s automatic transmission fluid and have the vehicle on a flat, level surface. Remove the overflow plug and place a drain pan under it to catch any excess that runs out. Remove the fill plug, and fill the transmission with approved fluid until it begins to run out of the overflow hole. Wait until the excess has finished draining out, then reinstall the overflow and fill plugs and you’re all set.

Q: if I wanted to lift my toyota tundra 10 inches how much would it cost?
I have a 2008 toyota tundra. I want to lift it 10 inches. What am I looking at as far as the cost?

A: http://www.bulletproofsuspension.net/

http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tundra-suspension-talk/81154-bulletproof-12-suspension-lift-q.html

Somewhere around 6-8 grand. Including the Kit, Wheels, and Tires.

Q: What is the best exhaust system for a toyota tundra?
i have a 08 toyota tundra crewmax and im looking for some exhaust and i need help. i want a really nice muscle rumble to my truck.
the kind of rumble that gets everybody looking at your truck. any ideas

A: Magnaflow.com sound clips as well as Borla.

Q: What are some good tough chrome rims to put on a lifted 2010 toyota tundra?
I am looking for truck rims in the 18″ category for my truck. I am getting it lifted with 35″ mud terrain tires and need rim ideas. So if you could please help me out on some good brands.

A: you really shouldn’t put chrome with mud tires

try http://www.wheelfire.com/scontent/WheelDetails.cfm?IDNumber=XD796Revolver_MatteBlackfull&SKU=3341&VehicleMakeFinal=Toyota&VehicleYearFinal=2004&VehicleModelFinal=Tundra&VehicleOption=4×4%20SR5%20Double%20Cab%2FLimited&lift=2

Q: is it safe to buy a 2010 toyota tundra 4.6l 4×2 dbl cab v8?
I am planing on buying a 2010 toyota tundra and been hearing a lot of things about toyota. can you guys and ladies let me know if its safe to get a 2010 toyota tundra.

A: It is not recommended that you purchse this vehicle.

Here are the models affected by the Toyota recall:

• 2009-2010 RAV4,
• 2009-2010 Corolla,
• 2009-2010 Matrix,
• 2005-2010 Avalon,
• 2007-2010 Camry,
• 2010 Highlander,
• 2007-2010 Tundra,
• 2008-2010 Sequoia

I’d look into Honda. GL!

Q: is there a way to turn bluetooth on and off in Toyota tundra 2010?
if there a way to turn the bluetooth on and off, because sometimes the bluetooth sign doesn’t show up.

A: owner’s manual? or maybe toyota’s website? hope this helped!

Q: do you think 2010 toyota tundra is better than the 2010 ford 4×4 raptor?

A: http://media.photobucket.com/image/gmc denali/mgentryd/Denali.jpg

Q: please i need help with my 2010 toyota tundra (because the guys at toyota are idiotic jerks)!??!?
i have a problem with phone pairing with the toyota. The pair works fine but after i turn off the engine or bluetooth and turn it back on the phone and the car doesn’t automaticly find each other. I cannot even select the phone it tells me that there is no phones by that name. How do i solve this problem?

A: why is it the trucks fault…maybe its the cellphone…or better yet its the owner who doesnt know how to work either the truck or the phone

Q: where is the oil filter on a 2010 toyota tundra with 4.6 liter engine?

A: Underneath the front engine skid plate… good luck =) u have to take the skid plate off to change it

Q: wats is the price for 2010 toyota tundra crew cab v8?

A: Ask the dealer. Not every dealer is going to sell it for the same price. The rest is up to your negotiating skills.

Q: Where can I get an additional or replacement gas tank for a Toyota Tacoma 4×4 truck?
I would like to add gas capacity to my 1998 Toyota Tacoma 4×4 truck. Where can I get a replacement tank that is larger than the 15 gallon stock, or where can I get a second gas tank that will fit this unit.

A: ttora.com is a really great forum for hard to find info. i would ask some of the folks there; might be someone trying to sell what you are looking for. there is probably a local chapter near you.

Q: Anyone who owns a Tacoma truck have noisy rumbling sounds from doors while driving?
It sounds as if my door is not completely shut but it is.I can hear it, not constantly but I can hear while I drive. I was wondering if anyone else noticed this on their truck and if its something the dealer can fix .

A: yes can be fixed. adjust the door latch catches. the catch has a slotted hole behind the catch.

Q: what is the best combination for a sound system in a toyota tacoma truck?
Im getting a toyota tacoma, and im wanting to put a sound system in it, with good quality sound. Im wondering what type and what size speakers i should get and what amp to go along with it?

A: If you’re new to car audio, you probably dont know something that you should. JL Audio makes the best of everything. Speakers, amps, subs, crossovers, EVERYTHING. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

I’d go with some nice 10″ subs to go underneath the seats or behind the rear seats. JL w3s are VERY good speakers. You could get a nice $150 alpine deck and a kenwood amp for around $500 total.

email me with questions
good luck

Q: How do I replace the emergency brake cable to my 1998 Toyota tacoma truck?
The cable snapped at the end of the emergengy brake release rod. I can not figure out how to remove the old cable anchor and attach the new one. The rest is easy enough to do, I just don’t have any experience with this part of the repair. Thanks in advance for any help.

A: Can you say, “pain in the neck?” Look under the dash at the parking brake lever. Follow it toward the firewall until you find where a small silver lever contacts the e-brake light switch. (It will be on the brake pedal side. You have to remove that pin, which is pressed into place. With it removed, the lever will slide through and you can disengage/reingage the cable. That pin has ridges on it, so don’t twist it or it will break off! (Gee, I wonder how I know that! ) I usually remove the handle assembly. Not fun, for sure!

Hope this helps! God Bless!

Q: What is the standard pricing for diagnostic work on my electrical system for my Tacoma truck?
I don’t want to get ripped off…. What is standard pricing (or a general idea) to have them look at my electrical and find the problem?

I am calling for quotes today…
My Dash Lights are out (not blown fuse) and my after market subwoofer keeps blownig the fuse and this time it melted the fuse holder… Its been on and off for a while

A: Most shops range from $80 – $110 an hr. Just hope they find the problem quickly.

Q: What is the best car seat for the Toyota Tacoma extended cab truck?
My husband has a Tacoma and we are looking to buy a second carseat, a rear facing/non carrier carseat, for his truck. Which has the smaller backseat. I currently have the Britax Diplomat in my car and love it but it seems to take up a lot of space in my car, so I’m not so sure it will work so great in his truck. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what carseats to are best as far as safety and fit for such a small space.

A: let check bestseller at amazon web site from below link..i hope this may help

http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/baby-products/1272297011/ref=pd_nr_ba_mte&tag=ukgm-20

Q: How to engage and disengage 4-wheel drive on a 2002 tacoma truck?
Or, know of where I Can see a manual online?
It is an automatic, shifter in the console, thanks. I am just not sure of the sequence, does the truck need to be in neutral, park? And once in 4×4, how do you put it back in 2-wheel drive? Thanks

A: Depends what kind of shift it is. Is it the older style with the clutch and a gearshift sitting in between the driver and passenger side? If so just push in the clutch as with a stick shift-slide it back into 4wd high then let off the clutch.
If you are really bogged down in some deep snow or mud you will probably need to put it in 4wd low.
Some have it on the dash-where you just push a button-im not too familiar with that.

Q: how much can I talk down the price of new truck toyota tacoma Asking price 32k ?
Specfically I want to buy a 07+ New truck Toyota Tacoma the Asking Price is 32,000 how much do you think I can talk the dealer down on this? anyone have any comparsion to what they got ?

A: Depends on your state’s sales tax – try for $30,000 even out the door because Carmax in Laurel, MD sells loaded Tacomas for $28K and the out the door price would be right under $30K since Carmax does not haggle on price.

Q: Where can I find a seat belt buckle for a Tacoma truck? Are seatbelts one-size-fits all deals?
I’m new to the car world, and have recently acquired a truck with a broken seat belt buckle. How can I repair this?

I’m 95% positive that the truck is a 95… but I’m not sure. Would I need to know this before I started looking, or does it not matter? I don’t know…

It is only the buckle that’s broken, and I know someone who can fix it, I just don’t know where to buy the part.

Please help!

A: Call your local Toyota Dealer. Some safety restraints such as seat belts are warrantied for life. It is worth calling and checking.

Q: Where can I find a used camper shell for my 2000 Toyota Tacoma truck std cab short bed?
I don’t have a lot of money that is why I prefer used. My truck is dark green. Are there any good websites out there that sells used camper shell?

A: you could always look on ebay for one really cheep take my advice cheep @ www.ebay.co.uk but you need to sign up to be a member

Q: How much would it cost to replace a clutch in a 1995 toyota tacoma truck?

A: with parts and labor all included you would be looking at about,300-450 for labor and all,and that’s with replacing it with good parts also, cheaper ones can be bought but are not recommended for this job, this one job you don’t want to have done twice, good luck on it.

Q: is a well maintained toyota tacoma small truck with 200k mileage worth buying?
I heard from someone that toyota truck can go 300k or more. I saw on craigslist a company is downsizing and selling their claimed well maintained small tacoma at a reasonable price. I am trying to get an idea in general how many more mileage I can get out of a 200k-mile truck. thanks.

A: Any vehicle can go 300k, but few do. Guessing how many miles are left is just that. A guess.

Q: What should be the pressure for 265/70 R16 tires on my Toyota Tacoma truck?
These are bigger than original size. I bought new tires and the shop inflated them up to 39psi. I got the tires check when I took it for an oil change and the guy told me the tires should be 29psi because the sticker on the door said so. However, now that they’re at 29psi the tires look underinflated. Should I inflate them a little more? Please help.

Thank you!

A: 39 psi is probably too high. The original equipped tires should be 26 psi in front and 29 in the rear. I usually keep both front and rear tires at 30 psi. Really as long as they are not too low or too high they should be ok.

Q: What is the best brand of gas to use in a tacoma truck?

A: 87 octane isn’t premium unleaded, but it’s still what you should use.

Q: I have a 1998 Tacoma truck that won’t start. It will start if I spray some gumout down the intake?

A: apparently it’s not getting any fuel, either the fuel pump is bad or the fuel filter is plugged.

Q: What is the difference between a Toyota Tacoma Prerunner and a Toyota Tacoma?
The prerunner is lifted and has a few other details, but is there any difference between the two in the cab or anything? Can you make a tacoma into a prerunner easily?

A: Prerunner models are all 2 Wheel Drive but have the ride height and suspension of the 4WD model. They’re a waste of money.

Q: How much days can a Tacoma student miss school?
I’m in high school and planning to miss school for about a week. The problem is i already missed it for some days. Is there a limit to how much days a tacoma high schooler can miss?

A: No! But you will have to catch up in alot of work! Don’t miss school! You may get suspended! This may go on your permanent record if you miss more then six days in a row!

Q: What speaker sizes fit in a 2008 toyota tacoma 4×2 access cab?
Is the front speakers 6×9 and the back 6 and a half? I was looking at crutchfield, and they say that 6×9 is not compatible for a tacoma. Anyone have any experience with tacoma audio?

A: I never cared much for Crutchfields info. They are not always accurate. They are more interested in making the sell.
Go to www.metraonline.com
Enter your info in the what fits my vehicle section. They will show you everything you need including kit and harness’. Sometimes you have to make slight modifications to the mounting locations considering the factory has their speakers made for their vehicles and aftermarkets are universal fit but the size is right.

Q: Who is a good realtor in tacoma washington for military buyers?
I am moving to Fort Lewis very soon and would like to buy a house in the Tacoma, Spanaway, Puyallup area? We are planning on using a VA loan to purchase the house, so a military friendly realtor near fort lewis is what we REALLY need. Any past buyers with good experiences out there?

A: Just about any that work at John L. Scott, Windermere, Century 21 in that area should be well versed in the VA home buying process since it is so close to Fort Lewis. I’m more partial to John L. Scott, but then I work there ; )

You might browse their wesbites & look at agent profiles to see if any specialize in just that field.

Q: What is the difference between a Toyota Tacoma sr5 and prerunner?
What is the difference between a tacoma sr5 and a prerunner? I’ve seen a few very different looking tacomas, and there is one I like but don’t know what exactly it is. Pretty much any information about these trucks would be appreciated.

A: Hi,

for Toyota, the SR5 designation is a certain level of trim which varies somewhat depending on which vehicle it is on and what model year the vehicle is (the Tacoma is one of the vehicles Toyota offers the SR5 trim on, the Tundra would be one of the others).

Usually, SR5 includes options such as power windows and locks, keyless entry, cruise control air conditioning, single CD player and some type of upgraded interior. There may also be additional body moldings and those may be in color and a different rim/tire combination.

A PreRunner simply means the Tacoma has a 6 cylinder engine, but it is only rear-wheel drive.

PreRunners are not 4WD and are not available with a 4 cylinder engine.

The PreRunner will have a larger tire/rim combination like a 4WD model.

Prerunners usually have an SR5 trim package and may come in regular or extended cab configurations, depending on the model year.

Prerunners are easily identified by the Prerunner badging on the tailgate, or if that has been removed, by the absence of a 4WD shifter/turn dial in the interior of the cab.

A Tacoma may have the SR5 trim and may be a regular or extended cab, but be a 4 cylinder, 2WD or 4WD model.

Q: How much would it cost to get toyota tacoma completely fitted out approximately?
Might be getting a toyota tacoma 1997-2003, 4×4, with extended cab. How much would it cost to get it completely fitted out im talkin 3 inc lift, swamper tires, winch, toolbox, all the good stuff. Even if i got everything the cheapest i could give me an approximate.(also i would like more suggestions for wat to get those are just things off the top of my head.

A: You should probably check the frame to make sure it’s not rusting in half like Tacoma’s do, before you go getting it “outfitted” with “swamper tires” and a lift kit.

Q: What are the best modifications for a 99 toyota tacoma?
I just bought a ‘99 Toyota Tacoma with the TRD package. Can anyone tell me what some good modifications are as far as air intakes, headers, etc.? I’m especially looking for people who have already done these modifications and what kind of gains they got from them.

A: I don’t have a Tacoma but I had a T-100 and I have a 2001 Tundra that I bought new, Both of these trucks were used to deliver Mail I put the equivalent of 380,000 miles on the T-100 and then I bought the Tundra and I put the equivalent 500,000 miles on it. These are not real mills but are taken from a clock in either case both vehicles were operated for under $1000 for a 4 year period of time each, before them I drove Fords and my cost of keeping them on the road was between $12,000 and $18,000 for a like amount of time only not going as far, more like 340,000 for the four year time frame. It is yours and your choice but if I was you I would keep it just the way it is. I drove 24 new Fords before I bought my first Toyota and now I wouldn’t let you park one in my drive way.

Edit note; I wish that Fords were near as good but I am sorry they just aren’t, I counted on my truck to earn a living

Q: What are some community services that teens can do in Tacoma or University Place, and what are the locations?
What specific community services can teens do in Tacoma, Washington and where in the cities are they held? When are they?
What do you do in them? How many hours is it? What do you do in order to sign up to participate in the community services? Can you do it with your MESA team?

A: if you don’t get any good answers here on this forum, I would suggest joining this Yahoo group, called Tacoma Pierce Resources …….. there may already be something on there you are looking for, or you can email the moderators or post your question to people who live in Pierce County.

TacomaPierceResources-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Q: What can I do to advertise my business in the Tacoma and Seattle area that really works on a small budget?
I have three business locations in Tacoma and Seattle, WA and I need to stay ahead of the competition. I’ve tried radio, newspapers and direct mail (ValPak and MoneyMailer) but they are ridiculously expensive for the few customers each has directed to me so I want to try something new. Is there anything better out there?

A: How about running coupons on the back of the register tapes in your local grocery store? I am actually the Tacoma rep for a company that works with all of the Safeways in the Puget Sound. This form of advertising really works at getting more customers through your door, and it doesn’t cost nearly the price of traditional media. I have numerous clients who are redeeming 10-15 coupons a day with our program. Definitely consider this form of advertising. It gets new customers into your store and existing customers into your store more often. Email me if you would like more info. Good luck!

Q: How can I make a 2002 tacoma go fast?
I have a 3.4L 2002 4door toyota tacoma, I want to make it go very fast, i put K&N cold-air intake on it but i dont notice much of a difference other than my check engine light is now on all the time. I have about a 500 dollar/month budget. So i can’t get everything at once probably.

A: First clean your MAF. It’s probably full of oil.

Then do some research on supercharging your Tacoma.
Here is a good place to start http://www.urdusa.com/

Q: What is the best place to buy used cordless drill in Tacoma?
We want to buy cordless drill and we know new ones cost at least $50 or more so we want to buy used one ..can you suggest what is the reliable and cost effective place in Tacoma WA to buy it?

A: pawn shops like Cash Converters.

A lot of trades people will sell their equipment to pawn shops when they need money

Q: How do I get anywhere with a complaint against a Toyota Tacoma rusty frame?
My 2005 Toyota Tacoma with 55k miles has a rusty looking frame. It is not rusted through, just really ugly start for a 3-4 year old truck. I called Toyota and checked for recall with my Vin# and nothing was recalled. They told me to go to a dealer and have them check it out. Any advice on what I can do in adition to this?

A: Go to a dealer and have them check it out.

Q: How do I find out more about public transportation in Tacoma, Washington?
My little sister moved to Tacoma for college and it’s a state I’ve never visited. She wont have a car and is living off campus with her boyfriend. He says he will be able to drive her but I think it’s good to have a backup plan- just in case. How do I find bus routes for Tacoma online? Are the buses reliable there? How much does it cost?

A: I’ve been taking Pierce Transit buses for about 5 years now, I’d say they’re pretty reliable, usually good about being on time. The current fare for adults is $1.75, or $63 for a one month pass.

All the route information is on http://www.piercetransit.org/, like the person above said.

You could get a nice $150 alpine deck and a kenwood amp for around $500 total.

email me with questions
good luck

Lookin for a 2010 Tacoma ? Find more auto classifieds and Truck for sale at LemonFree.com

Q: Should a 2010 Tacoma Pre-runner have had 4 “D-Ring” cargo tie downs or just two?
I just bought a 2010 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner and it has two floor level cargo hooks in the rear near the tailgate. There are two pre-drilled holes in the front of the bed. Should it have come with two more in the front or is that an extra option?

A: No, those pre-drilled holes are for water drainage.

Q: Best exhaust for 2010 tacoma prerunner sport?
I am trying to decide between a TRD, Borla, and Flowmaster exhaust. Which gives better performance and what will sound better? Any tips anyone?

A: The best exhaust is the one it came from the factory with. It’s been tested to insure the engine gets the best economy and HP possible.

Q: I’m Stuck between these cars 2010 Tacoma 2010 FJ Cruiser 2010 Subaru WRX STI?
Which one is the best out of these three my dad has the FJ but i really like the others also!

A: I love, love, love my FJ – but if you are worried about fuel economy or visibility – I’d pass on it! If neither of the above is a concern for you- go for it! It’s a great truck!!

Q: 2010 Toyota Tacoma, How much should I pay? HELP!?
I can’t seem to get a solid price on a 2010 Tacoma. I’m looking at a V6 Double Cab Prerunner. I did a little research and found out a 2010 Tacoma costs around 21500 base. He told me he will offer me 300 over invoice ($24795) and throw in tint (claims to be 200). There is an SR5 package on there (SL). It just doesn’t seem to add up. The SL package really only costs 990 invoice making the truck about 22500 tops invoice. His price (he even showed me the screen but I feel it’s a ploy anyways) is a good 2000 over what I researched. He told me Internet prices aren’t really correct and such. But I am reading ppl purchasing a new Tacoma with TRD package for 22000 in 2008, I would think I will be able to get one without TRD options for a good price? With TT&L. It finally adds up to about 26795…what do you all think? I feel like I’m being ripped off
Apparently, the questions I was looking at was asked a month ago. So I’m assuming the guy bought his 22000 dollar tacoma recently.

A: 1) Don’t believe what you hear people say and what you see on the internet.

2) Toyota discloses the MSRP for each and every trim model (manufacturers suggested retail price) so there should be NO incosistencies.

3) The only additional fees would be freight, pdi, taxes, and dealer fees. Don’t forget about licensing.

4) There are websites out there that you can pay to find out the dealer cost. I think sign up is around $60. However, you may be surprised to see that they don’t make much off this truck.

5) It’s okay to allow the car salesman to make some money. Nothing is for free.

6) It is the best mid size truck in the market.

Q: will a Westin Bull bar assembly 32-1600 made for a Toyota Tacoma 2005-2008 models fit a 2010 Tacoma?

A: The Westin Bull Bar 32-1600 fits Toyota Tacoma models from 2005 to 2010 according to PerformanceParts4Less.com. They are one of the largest sellers of Westin Automotive products. You can even find the installation instructions on their web site. I have added a link to the look up by vehicle below. Just enter the year, make and model and look under Grille Guard. This will bring up 7 products and one of them will be the Westin Bull Bar 32-1600.

Q: what should i do.. keep my current truck, 2010 tacoma 4dr prerunner, or sell it and get a g35 coupe?
i currently own a 2010 toyota tacoma. i just bought 4 months back. i dont know wether to sell it and buy an infiniti g35 coupe i been wanting, or keep my tacoma. the tacoma is a prerunner 4drs not TRD or offroad. just 4×2. I like it but I dont know if I like driving it as much as I would a sports car like an Infiniti G35. I like the coupes and would want to get the 6spd. I dont haul a lot. Nor have a family its just me and my g/f. The truck has been handy a few times. But not sure. I think the g35 is sexier than the truck but I want to hear want the opinion from the world. You think g35’s are nice or annoying? Should I keep the truck or sell it? ill let you decide for me

A: You need to realize that your truck is now worth a lot less than what you paid for it so you need to be prepared to take a big loss. If you financed the truck you probaqbly owe more that your loan balance. So the best thing to do is to keep the truck for a while.

Q: will 30 x 9.50 r15 lt 104 q tires fit on a toyota tacoma 2010 that has p245.75r19 109s m+s tires?
i dont know anythimg about cars. AND a bonus question, if i add a magnaflow muffler on my v6 tacoma will it sound like a rice rocket?

A: um those tires will fit if u have some 15 inch rims that will fit……which i don’t think will clear without serious backspacing to clear brake calipers….

as for muffler…..won’t change sound that much and no wont sound like a ricer……also since u did NOT say which muffler hard to say…….magnaflow is a BRAND…..not a style/type/model

Q: How many quarts of oil should I put in my 2010 4.0L Toyota Tacoma when I change the oil?

A: If you have no owners manual then just fill it until the dipstick says it’s full. After this start the engine and run it for a minute, stop it wait one minute and check it again. This fills the oil filter but also lowers the level about a quart due to filling the filter. Now add oil until it is full again and you’re done.

Next sell that second rate Toyota for an American or European car.

Q: Do you have any info about tacoma community college respiratory therapy school 2010?
I applied and would like to know if this is a competitive program. Is it a good program. Anything helps.

A: Information is below.

Q: What is the factory invoice on a 2010 toyota tacoma?
Just wanting to know to see of 750 above invoice is a good deal a.d to make sure they actually give me the right price . Please don’t give me any links I just want a straight forward answere please. I’m looking for a 2010 Toyota tacoma access cab 2wd v6 with sr5 and tow package. Thanks for your help guys.
I don’t know how its just shows me quotes that’s y I don’t want links

A: “Please don’t give me any links I just want a straight forward answere please”

What? Are you too friggin lazy to do your own research?

Q: i have a toyota tacoma 2010 but it do not have a overhead compass can it be put in?

A: Sure. Is this a option that some of these vehicles come from the factory with? If so your best bet would be to go back to the dealership to see how much they would charge to install it. Or you could find a company that installs things such as sun roofs, car stereos and other items. They probably could put one in for you.

Q: is it normal for a new tacoma to make noise as it accelerates?
we just got a new 2010 tacoma and noticed that after 900 miles, when accelerating, the engine sounds louder as its taking off and seems to take longer to accelerate, I was wondernig if this is normal on new trucks for the first thousand miles?

A: “the engine sounds louder as its taking off” All engines make more sound when accelerating. What kind of noise is it? Grinding? Buzzing? Squealing? Rumbling? Just more “engine sound” is nothing to worry about.

“and seems to take longer to accelerate” If your vehicle is accelerating differently than it was just a few hundred miles ago, something is wrong with it.

Q: How much are your montly payments for your new Toyota Tacoma 2010/11?
Hi all,

Just a random question for those of you that own a new Toyota Tacoma. I know that If I asked the Toyota people they will play with my mind to convince me that everything will be fine… and most likely play with my calculations. So I figure that you guys will be more honest… well, hopefully more realistic on how much I be looking at… as far as my monthly payments.

I been considering, buying a new Toyota Tacoma… but have no idea how much my monthly payments will be. How much are your monthly payments???

Thanks in advance!!!

A: I have a friend that bought a 2008 left over tundra 4×4 single cab plain truck he pays $400 a month for 60 months I am also thinking about buying a Tacoma my old t-100 is wearing out 16 yrs old. so I would also like to get an idea about the cost without dealer hassle.

Q: is there gonna be a 2010 toyota tacoma?

Q: Toyota tacoma?
I am trying to get a cold air intake for my 1999 2.7 L toyota tacoma. I don’t want to spend a lot of money. I found a cold air intake for the 3.4 L V6 for about $70. Would that system fit on my 2.7 four cylinder.
i know that 4 and 6 cylinder have different parts, but the air boxes are in the same location along with the throttle body and the tube for the air intake.

A: No, 4 cyl and 6 cyl are not compatable for parts.

Q: toyota tacoma??
I need to buy a toyota tacoma between 1995 and 1999 can anyone please let me know if you have any info on one and please no craiglist i already checked.

A: Try these sites.

http://www.autotrader.com

http://www.cars.com

Q: TOYOTA TACOMA………?
i got an 05 toyota tacoma for for my fist car. about how much will it cost me to lift it up about 2 inches? and can any mechanic do it? oh and will it mess anything up? like shox?

A: Depends on the type lift?
A body lift would be easier and cheap(er) if you are going 2″ and will allow for bigger tires. The cost of the body lift is about $150.00 I’d just go ahead and do 3″ since they make 2″, and 3″ body lifts.

I paid 150.00 for my lift on a 1999 Tacoma. (I now have a stock 2005 Tacoma)

A suspension lift would be more expensive, but it will get the frame of the truck higher off the ground 2″. It will cost around $1,250.00

As for labor, you will need to find a place that 4×4 off road work
if you are going body lift. Most big name brand shops don’t fool with body lifts. I did 3 body lifts on Toyota Tacomas, Labor is about 6-7 hours.

As for the suspension lift, some Auto shops do them.
But they’ll only do them if you buy the parts from them.
Labor is the same for a suspension also.Around 7 hours.

Q: Toyota Tacoma ?
Hi, i am seriously thinking about purchasing an 06 or 07 Tacoma double cab with the 4.0 v6. Does anone have any comments or complaints about this truck? Also has anyone used it for towing? I currently own a 98 f-150 4×4 and occasionally use it to tow my Mustang and trailer to the track. It roughly has the same h.p. rating as the Tacoma but torque output i’m unsure of. Has anyone towed a vehicle with the Tacoma, if so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Sorry forgot that little detail, it’s the 4.6

A: Your Tacoma will tow your mustang just fine, The 4.0 is a very strong engine, you do realize that you are going from a full size truck to more of a compact truck so the towing behavior will be different. You may be a little disappointed with the fuel mileage, but the strong performance will make up for that. Not sure if you have a 4.6 or 5.4 in your F150. I say for occasional towing you will be fine. Toyota quality is far superior, and they are great looking trucks.

Q: Toyota Tacoma, if it fails test, can dealer trade you a car right then and there then receive check?
Also, what ar ethe percentages of these Tacomas failing. 99 Toyota Tacoma here, taking it in this week.

A: I assume that you are talking about the frame rust thing. If you live in the rust belt, Chicago, Detroit etc. the chances are pretty good it may fail. Call your dealer and ask him what your options are. I have heard that some trucks are just getting new frames now.

You could get a nice $150 alpine deck and a kenwood amp for around $500 total.

email me with questions
good luck

Q: How do you change the oil filter on a Toyota Tacoma?
I just changed the oil on my “new” 1996 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 with the 3.4L V6. That that oil filter is almost impossible to access without removing the front skid plate. Is there some special tool or technique to remove (and install) that oil filter without removing that skid plate?

A: If I can recall its a 14mm Screw that holds it in. I think theres 4 screws. If its like the 2009 Tundra, you can remove the rear bolts and bend the plate, put a piece of paper news paper and slip it underneath, slowly remove the oil filter and oil should start dripping out and hit the news paper and flow down on it into your pan or w.e your using to hold the old oil.

Q: what is the average price for a black 2004 toyota tacoma automactic?
I am going to be buying a vehicle soon and I want to get a Black 2004 Toyota Tacoma and I need to know the average cost of them. Please let me know. Thank you.

A: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/searchresults.jsp?num_records=100&search_lang=en&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&search_type=both&distance=0&address=90210&marketZipError=false&style_flag=1&make=TOYOTA&model=TACOMA&make2=&start_year=2003&end_year=2004&min_price=1&max_price=1000000&seller_type=b&transmission=&engine=&drive=&doors=&fuel=&max_mileage=&color=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywords_display=&sort_type=priceDESC&body_code=0&certified=&advanced=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&showZipError=n&default_sort=priceDESC&awsp=false&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&systime=&rdm=1234839132999

Q: How does my jeep compare to a Toyota Tacoma 4×4?
I’m just curious I have a jeep wrangler and I love it to death and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m just curious how does it compare off road to a Toyota Tacoma 4×4. Both being bone stock. I know this is probably one of those both have pros and cons type question but I’d like hear everyones opinion.

A: I have a Tacoma, it’s been a great truck and I’ve driven thousands of offroad trails without a problem. Reliability has been great, (I have an 04) and I’m sure if I decide to sell it I’ll be able to get more than a Jeep of the same year. It’s also much quieter on the road than a Jeep, and it’s comforting to know that Toyota is not going bankrupt in the next couple of months.

That being said, I imagine a shorter wheelbase, solid axel vehicle like the jeep will perform better offroad in most situations than a longer wheelbase, IFS vehicle like the Tacoma.

Q: Where can I find a front drivers side seat for a 98 toyota tacoma?
I have a 98 Toyota tacoma and I have been searching for ages for a new front drivers side seat. Can anyone tell me where the best place to find one would be or point me in the direction of one? Would the seats from a 96, 97, 99, 2000 tacoma fit the car? I really need to find this seat fast, its the last part I need to completely restore my truck.

A: What I’ve done in the past is contact the bigger or cheaper auto wreckers and compare their prices and then I’ve compared the U pick auto wreckers prices and usually I end up pulling out the seats myself. Then I clean and even soap scrub the seats , allow them to sit and dry then install them using new bolts etc if possible.

To me if you want both seats to match either you need to remove or buy two seats clean etc or have the two old seats you in it reupholstered by a auto custom upholstery shop.Really if you’ve the cash you could order new seats or even have them custom made for you.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way 100% you can buy used seats for it bec now a days most of the auto wreckers all are connected to each other via the net etc and if the wreckers in your area don’t have the part you can get them to order them for you through their contacts.

Q: Would a Toyota Tacoma be able to hold the box springs to a double/full bed?
I have to move a double/full sized bed this evening. I thought I’d only have a Ford Escape available, but now it looks like I’d have access to a Toyota Tacoma as well. Which would be better? I’m mostly concerned with the box springs since it’s the largest and most inflexible piece. Thanks!

A: you and your box springs.

yeah, they’ll fit, although they might lay sideways with one side up on the top of the side of the bed. just tie them down and all is well. the tire humps is what will be the problem, but laying sideways will be fine.

Q: How difficult is it to install A/C in a 95 Toyota Tacoma?
I’m looking at buying a 95 Toyota Tacoma. A/C was an option and the original owner did not have it installed. The bolt are there to install it but how hard would it be. I’m somewhat handy. Is this something a mechanic would have to do or what?

A: Will be cheaper to look for a truck with the AC already installed, even if you may need to have that one’s AC fixed.

Q: Should a 2010 Tacoma Pre-runner have had 4 “D-Ring” cargo tie downs or just two?
I just bought a 2010 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner and it has two floor level cargo hooks in the rear near the tailgate. There are two pre-drilled holes in the front of the bed. Should it have come with two more in the front or is that an extra option?

A: No, those pre-drilled holes are for water drainage.

Q: which vehicle 2009 mercedes C300 or 2010 Toyota Tacoma?
my mercedes is black on black with upgraded amg rims and has 22000miles on it i have an option to get a brand new toyota tacoma with watever upgrades i want including 2inch lift, tire enlargement and $700 worth of stereo equipment i would get it black on black which should i choose cause i live in florida and hunt a little bit but im not gonna go mudding or somethin cause thats gay

A: Stick with the Mercedes. It is still new and has a higer resale value.

Q: is there gonna be a 2010 toyota tacoma?

A: i hope not. toyota seized production for like a month on them things cuz noone was buying them
*GAS CRISIS*

Q: i have a toyota tacoma 2010 but it do not have a overhead compass can it be put in?

A: Sure. Is this a option that some of these vehicles come from the factory with? If so your best bet would be to go back to the dealership to see how much they would charge to install it. Or you could find a company that installs things such as sun roofs, car stereos and other items. They probably could put one in for you.

Q: Looking for new Toyota Tacoma Extra cab Prerunner or TRD Version?
I am looking for a brand new Toyota Tacoma it can be an 09 or 2010 Toyota Tacoma Extra Cab Prerunner or possibly TRD for $23,000 out the door. I want it have back windows to be factory tinted already. Now that I am starting my new job I need a truck. Any suggestions or recommended dealers?
I forgot to mention anywhere in San Diego I would buy from as long as I could find my a new Tacoma for that price out the door

A: just search dealersips on toyota.com and call them all and tell them exactly what you want and let them find it for you.
and i gaurantee you some guy that says “combat vetran” in his source box will tell you that they rust and toyota kills babies or something like that, don’t listen, he is just a cranky old man that i sad because his chevy isn’t cool anymore

Q: Would you buy a new Toyota Tacoma right now in the middle of all this recall madness?
Apparently I haven’t been watching the new lately because last night I purchased a 2010 Tacoma. I have to go in Saturday to finish the paperwork up. I just heard all this news today and am freaking out now. I know the tacoma isn’t part of the sticking gas pedal recall only the floor mat one (they fastened the floor mats to the ground so they don’t slide around and are no where near the gas pedal, personally I think they should have been that way in the first place). Anyways the mats are my worry. Even though the Tacoma is not included in this new recall, Toyota vehicles in general are scaring me. I have been doing a lot of research online but they are so dang vague. I do know that its somewhat of a wear and tear thing and that if there is a problem with the newer models they shouldn’t be affected for a while and by then can be replaced when they come up with a solution(apparently in april) What would you all do…back out of it on Saturday or keep it??
The tocoma fit what I needed its not a full size but has 4 doors and enough room inside for big car seats, the long bed for our desert toys, & I wanted a 4×4. I personally would have had no problem going with the nissan frontier but my husband didnt like it. I always thought Toyota had a good reliable rep. and theyre not the first car co. to have dangerous recalls. …I just cant shake this sick feeling in my stomach even with tylenol pms its taking me hours to fall asleep. Im worried they wont take it back.

A: I wouldn’t get too worried, but for sure I would wait it out for a couple days and see what happens. I think some of the answers *maybe 1 or 2* are obviously strongly against toyota by how their urging you to go to an american company dealership now that this is the first major problem toyota had with their cars, and its their only opportunity to have negative feedback to use on toyota. To be perfectly honest, I think you should still get the toyota. Toyota/Lexus (lexus is a division of parent company toyota) take these things very seriously. My mom’s model of the Lexus ES 330 was thought to have the mat problem, and they quickly pinned down what year and specifics had the problem and handled it quickly, and they did offer free check to anyone concerned. They do take customers very seriously and don’t want to disappoint to avoid hurting that mostly good rep. I think in the longrun you would appreciate buying the Toyota truck because it will more than likely hold great value and the long run reliability will be much greater. Even though the pedal thing is scary now, many will not deny the Toyota assembly and quality control has higher standards than many other standard economy car manufacturers. Good luck with the deal! I hope everything works out and you get the car you want!

Q: What do you think of the new Toyota 2010 4Runner?
This suv looks badass, and from the reviews, it does blow peoples minds.
Also, do you think the new 2012 Tacoma will have a similar look?

A: Toyota- Moving forward, Even if you don’t want to.

Terrible, its a Japanese car, and Japanese cars suck!

Q: Where can i get a great cheap paint job in the Bay Area?
I want to paint my 2010 toyota tacoma all black… need to know everything to there is to know about reputable Car paint jobs… please help me find the cheapest way to paint my car

A: Cheap and paint are like comparing tender and london broil

To change the color of a vehicle is expensive. A decent paint job will cost $2500.

Q: How do I turn off Daytime running lights on a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 truck?
I’ve tried pushing the interior light button 4 times quickly, I’ve tried turing the light switch dial back, but nothing seems to work. They are driving me nuts.

A: with a louisville slugger. LOL

Q: I have ordered a new 2008 Silverado 2500 HD truck. What plant does the final assembly?

A: mine was ft. wayne indiana

Q: I am 16 and I am looking to get a 2005 Chevt Silverado 2500 DURAMAX this is my first truck?
what would be the general cost for insurance for this truck? lI have had driving lessons and have my licence

A: The answers to this vary tremendously by geographic and other factors. Seek out rate quotes from various insurers. The internet makes this very fast and easy.

Q: What is the average city/highway mpg for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD 6.0L V8 4×4 truck?

A: GM sucks

Q: are 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 four by four or just a two wheel drive truck or both?
im buying this model truck but dont know if its 4*4 or 2 wheel drive its not listed

A: The 2500 came with either 2WD or 4WD. If there’s a picture, look at the fender behind the rear wheel. If it says 4×4, then there you go. If there’s no sticker, it still could be either. Wherever you’re buying it from, ask the person selling it, they should know.

Q: do i need to remove the transmission to replace drive plate on 4l80e tanny? I have a 2004 Silverado 2500?
I have a chevy truck 2500 and i’m thinking about doing it myself. I can see that the cover plate is easy to remove, but I don’t know if I can sneak the new flex plate in without first separating the motor from the tranny.

A: Ive replaced dozens of these. Short answer: Its impossible to replace without removing the transmission. The Torque converter is bolted to it, and in order to remove that, the transmission must be removed. Also, on a personal note, the flywheels made in Mexico tend to break 10:1 against the Canadian competition. Keep that in mind when purchasing the new one.

Q: I have a 2003 silverado 2500 hd 4wd.Sometimes when I exit the highway the truck stalls out.?
It will restart right away and will not have a problem for a few weeks or a few days.it is an automatic and has 55k on it.It seems to only happen on the exit ramps.

A: you could be geting some blowby, but with that few miles, i REALLY doubt it…probably just a computer thing, or your idle sensors and such are all outta whack…id run the free diagnostic and most schucks on it b4 i looked at mechanical stuff. Also, it could your ground wire for the fuel pumps. My 99 had that little problem, and i simply replaced it with a grounding system from an older model, worked like a charm

Q: Find the leak or what is wrong with my truck, 88′ Chevy Silverado K 2500!!?
the other day my truck overheated, i stoped and looked like it was comeing out the hose at the waterpump. so i changed the hose, it did have a hole in it. took my truck out today and same thing happend. still looks like its comeing out the hose but there are no holes. could it be leaking out the waterpump, freezplug, the clamps are tight. or maybe i have something blocked up? i do have heat when there is coolant in it and thermostat is good.

A: My mother-in-law had this problem. As it turns out, her waterpump had to be replaced. The seal between the engine block and the water pump had gone bad. Water pumps usually run you between 30 and 60 depending on the vehicle. Its a pain to replace on some because the steps vary so much depending on the vehicle’s design. The first time I changed one out, I had to fight the serpentine belt because I didn’t have to right tools to work on it. I ended up buying a breaker bar just for such an occasion, which couldn’t be helped. More than likely, you will need to buy a new water pump, including the seal that goes with it. Be sure to clean the old seal off of the block with a razor blade before adding the new one or any adhesive. Best of luck.

Q: Chevy Silverado 2500 for sale and i want to buy?
Im looking at this chevy 2500 6.0 litre truck, it has 140,000 k miles on it. Its being sold for 7995 im stuck. Is this a good deal? It has leather int, with quad cab, 4×4. its a 2002 chevy 2500 6.0 litre truck, kelly blue book puts it at 12,000 in perfect condition, which its not, and yes i did put the milage on kbb.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Q: How many miles per gallon on 2002 silverado 2500, 8.1L?
im buying a 2002 silverado 2500, two door, 8.1L. how many would i get per gallon. Also any additional info that u may know would be great, like pros an cons for getting the truck.

A: The 3 people we sold trucks with that engine all said the same thing 12 mpg city and highway they said that’s what it always got. Its a strong engine with few problems. The biggest con was it just didn’t get gas mileage at all.

Q: I need the firing order for my 1988 chevy silverado truck????
I need the firing order for my 1988 chevy silverado truck 3/4 ton 2500….

A: If it’s a V8 the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

Q: I have a 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 and want to install a factory remote starter from the dealer.?
I have heard alot of talk of remote starters being bad for your car/truck along with hearing stories of it having no effect at all. I am planning on keeping this truck long past the warranty but don’t want an electrical nightmare down the road. I work on a tight schedule and want the starter to let the engine warm up during cold winters. Does anyone have any advice/experience?

A: Dealer installed factory setups are not normally the problem, its the aftermarkets. Dealer installed parts do not void warranties.

A: look into viper or clifford remote start alarm
or 2 way system
they are the same as the dealer option and you will save half of the price

Q: Difference between Chevy Silverado 2500 and GMC Sierra 2500 4×4 Pick up trucks?
I like how they both look, but wonder about the advantage of one over the other. Is one less expensive than the other? Is there a reliability, durability difference? All comments welcome!

A: Not much difference.

Q: how do you remove the front differential drive shaft seal on 1990 Chevy Silverado 2500?
Trying to replace the front differential drive shaft seal and the seal that goes to the drive shaft on the transfer case. The truck is diesel and is 4×4.

A: Take a cold chisel and a hammer and beat on the edge of the seal enough to warp it enough to remove it. Use a seal installation tool to put the new one in. Auto Zone or NAPA will probably lend you a tool to put a new one in.
