A: The Jeep is more comfortable and more reliable and a nicer car inside and out.
But the Ford has slightly more room in the back.

I have an Expedition Truck I have been told to turn my Overdrive off. Why turn it off, what is it for no one can tell me? Is it best on or off when i drive in the city or Hwy??
A: if you use over drive in the city all the time,,especially on all the stop and go driving you do,,it is going to be hard on it,,it is meant for more open road driving,,its not going to help you get better fuel economy in the city,,because it is constantly shifting up and down,changing the engine speed every time it does it,,if you was on a free way it would go in over drive,,and you rpm,s would drop,,and you would get better gas mileage,but if you continue to use it in the city,,your just going to work the transmission to death, if you will look in your owners manual it will explain this to you,,i hope this help,s.

A: I do not think a expedition is a luxury SUV . Navagators, Escalades, Range Rovers, and Denalis are luxary SUVs

I’m planning on getting a 03 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4×4 with 135xxx miles very nice kept and I need some advice since I have a four wheeler with a trailer and not a really big family just me, my wife and two dogs.
A: It will pull a four wheeler without you even knowing it is there. I used one to pull a Jeep on a dolly on a 100 mile trip and it did great. Had to disengage the overdrive climbing long hills but otherwise no struggle at all. They don’t handle that great, they handle like a Ford truck, but they aren’t terrible by any means, it’s just a very heavy vehicle. The one I used (belongs to my in-laws) has a 5.4 Triton and is a 4×4 as well. They love it, and leave the back seat out of it all the time for more cargo room.

A: the amplifier will make the biggest difference
i disagree, don’t go to circuit city without looking at what they’ve done in the past, all i see online are stories about botched jobs because of inexperienced installers. you may get luck, but then again you may not. i say take it to a local place with a good reputation and good reviews.

My SUV is Eddie Bauer Limited edition and has about 130,000 miles on it.
A: Just an FYI, some dealerships charge more for the car you are buying if you have a trade in. The last used car I bought had a sticker price of $15k, after I started talking to the guy and said I didn’t have a trade in, the price automatically dropped $1900.
I agree with not telling them you have a trade in until they give you a solid price.

I’M going to Denver nd need an SUV about the size of an expedition, but most companies rent GM. Also is there a comparable Chrysler? The Passenger seating only needs to be 6 but I really need the trunk space.
A: the tahoe and yukon are GM’s answer to the expedition. You may be able to get away with an Envoy or a Trailblazer they are both a little smaller. The GM SUV’s will also get better fuel mileage than any other SUV you look at. Just something to think about.

A: Tyler is incorrect about the 5.4 being an option in the Explorer, it was not (the 4.6 was). Perhaps it would fit in one, but I’d guess not or else it probably would have been an option.
It was the base engine in the Expedition, and of course it would fit in an F-Series pickup.

A: id start by laying tarp down under front so load sits on top tie it down pack it the front part more important to stay rest just a rope or straps

A: You can make a jet engine work if you have enough money.
Have to be careful though with the 4.6. There were three different types of those. The Romeo engines will actually “fit in place” but they were used in the trucks, but not Expeditions. Then there are two types of the Windsor 4.6’s. One has a 6 bolt flywheel and the other has an 8.
The 5.4 engine was an option and can be made to fit. You could even install a 4.2 V6 with some work, but your best bet is to stick with what Ford put in there at the factory.

Below 14th Street the Streets are indeed narrow and a super bee-yotch to negotiate your way thru
In addition the fact that you’re driving a truck that has little girl car mirrors attached to it gives you more dangerous blind spots next to and below you than you are prepared to deal with
