I have an Expedition Truck I have been told to turn my Overdrive off. Why turn it off, what is it for no one can tell me? Is it best on or off when i drive in the city or Hwy??
A: if you use over drive in the city all the time,,especially on all the stop and go driving you do,,it is going to be hard on it,,it is meant for more open road driving,,its not going to help you get better fuel economy in the city,,because it is constantly shifting up and down,changing the engine speed every time it does it,,if you was on a free way it would go in over drive,,and you rpm,s would drop,,and you would get better gas mileage,but if you continue to use it in the city,,your just going to work the transmission to death, if you will look in your owners manual it will explain this to you,,i hope this help,s.

it only has 4 speakers: 2 in the front side doors and 2 in the middle of the pass. doors. what can I install to make this factory system sound super fine. I know one thing replace the original factory speakers! what else install an amplifier?

i disagree, don’t go to circuit city without looking at what they’ve done in the past, all i see online are stories about botched jobs because of inexperienced installers. you may get luck, but then again you may not. i say take it to a local place with a good reputation and good reviews.

A: the tahoe and yukon are GM’s answer to the expedition. You may be able to get away with an Envoy or a Trailblazer they are both a little smaller. The GM SUV’s will also get better fuel mileage than any other SUV you look at. Just something to think about.

I’m planning on getting a 03 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4×4 with 135xxx miles very nice kept and I need some advice since I have a four wheeler with a trailer and not a really big family just me, my wife and two dogs.
A: It will pull a four wheeler without you even knowing it is there. I used one to pull a Jeep on a dolly on a 100 mile trip and it did great. Had to disengage the overdrive climbing long hills but otherwise no struggle at all. They don’t handle that great, they handle like a Ford truck, but they aren’t terrible by any means, it’s just a very heavy vehicle. The one I used (belongs to my in-laws) has a 5.4 Triton and is a 4×4 as well. They love it, and leave the back seat out of it all the time for more cargo room.

A: The Jeep is more comfortable and more reliable and a nicer car inside and out.
But the Ford has slightly more room in the back.

Any SUV will run you broke, especially when gas prices really take off again. Wouldn’t you rather be spending your hard earned money on fun things for yourself rather than gasoline?

A: if u want a good system do not expect to pay less then a 500 but dont worry some decks will do alot, alpine or eclipse, pioneer all can play media files, you might find a deck on ebay for 150, an amp for 50 to 100 oldschool but will work forever, look for jl audio used or new
jus keep looking deals are abundant for new in box or used my 10.000 system would cost me about 5 or 6000 today anything will work w/ yer exppo just budget out a few hundred and you will be soooo far ahead

i have a 1999 expedition (eddie bauer) with this motor in it .for personal reasons i want to ditch this body but i just cant part with this monster engine. i am considering buying the shell(body) of another suv and wondered if anyone knew of another truck that my engine would fit in. help please
A: Tyler is incorrect about the 5.4 being an option in the Explorer, it was not (the 4.6 was). Perhaps it would fit in one, but I’d guess not or else it probably would have been an option.
It was the base engine in the Expedition, and of course it would fit in an F-Series pickup.

A: we got a 2004 expedition nbx gcc spec. its awesome. the shocks are amazing and since we live in the middle east, gas is cheap an we can afford one. we also take it off road about once a month and it can keep up with mitusbishi monteros and jeeps. which considering its size is amazing. the nbx has offroad shocks which are amazing over speed bumps and off road. an nicer running boards. as far as quality, it is what you can expect from american cars but the dealer service is nice. it has lots of space inside, weve taken a long roadtrip an its comfy. weve fit 10 people, an 2 guitars . i think thats the most. an its got pretty decent power considering its size. love it. if you need that much space and can afford gas, it is the best deal. thats why we got ours.

A: I wouldn’t recommend either one of them but I would recommend a GMC Yukon or Chevrolet Tahoe.

I am going to look at a Ford Expedition on Sunday. It is a few years old and I was wondering if any of you web heads have or had one and can tell e how well it does on gas and is it a reliable long lasting SUV. Any advice is more then appreciated.
A: The Expedition is a great vehicle no problem areas to speak of. The gas mileage is not bad for the size I had a 4.6 expedition and I managed 21 on the highway and 14 in town. It has a comfortable ride, quiet cabin and is roomy I traded my Expedition for an Explorer I liked the Explorer however it does not even compare with its big brother

is there a certain way to fold my tarp around my luggage so that it will not get blown to bits or leak rain into my cargo? it is on top of a ford expedition suv.
A: id start by laying tarp down under front so load sits on top tie it down pack it the front part more important to stay rest just a rope or straps
