A: Call any ford dealer in any state that requires 2 plates (i.e. NY) and tell them you want a factory plate holder…OR hit up ebay for one.

A: How high are you off the ground? How well is your electrics waterproofed, How good is your air filter? What kind of tires do you have to grab the mud or slick rocks. How high is your exhaust? If you truck stalls and cold water goes in the exhaust you now have a boat ancher. Otherwise don’t cross any water that you don’t know how deep it is, could be costly and dangerous.

got dual exhaust on it and about to get a cold air intake. but i want the tuner to put more fuel in the cylinders to go with the increased air on them. which ones are the best?

A: You are mistaken on two counts, that you will actually improve the amount of air flowing into your engine and that a tuner or chip will do anything for you if you actually do.

It takes more than a cold air intake to make a performance improvement that you can feel. The air cleaner and exhaust have little to do with the volumetric efficiency that is was engineered into your engine at the factory, the MAF sensor could handle the change, if there was a change, without reprogramming the PCM, which is not legal to do.

Changing the back pressure of the exhaust and modifying the intake and/or removing or rendering useless the ACT sensor can actually cause the PCM to inject more fuel than it needs which will only cause your catalytic converter to overheat and basically self destruct.

Trying to hotrod a late model computer controlled engine by the uninformed can be very costly in the end, I don’t recommend it, even to the most interesting man alive! lol

A: the most 31″

A: Gnerally, skid plates will protect the front diff, oil pan, tranny pan, and the gas tank. I cant say specifically on the F150 but that is the general list. They keep the things holding liquids protected so that you dont puncture them and need a tow.

A: we can only hope the cruse control fire….oh never mind….of course you’r safe.

Q: ‘06 F-150 FX4, should I take off the molding on the wheel well?
My truck is black and has the lower body accent that is gray, my wheel wells have gray molding around them but they look kind of tacky I think, plasticy. Any suggestions?

A: If you remove them, there will be holes where they were mounted to the body.
Have them painted black to match.

A: It usually costs around $3,000 (average) for the parts (for 2″ or 3″) if you buy the kit (all the parts at once), and you install it yourself. Lifting a vehicle is not cheap, but you can also buy the parts on sale or used (I do not recommend used, the parts are usually in bad condition even if they look fine). For more information go to www.central4wd.com (there are other wed sites and stores too, but I don’t remember them of the top of my head) , yours might cost around $2,500, and remember to get all the parts before installing them. The price does not include rims or tires. Think about it before you lift it, remember your truck will become stiffer and you will feel the roughness of the road more, depending on what tires you get if you decide to change them, you make not be able to go more than 60mph (because of the tires, not the engine), and the handling will also change slightly.

Q: I have an f-150 fx4 with a 3″ lift, which size wheel/tires should I be looking at for an off road look?

A: What year? Are the rims 16 17 or 18 inch?

I would at least want a 35″ you could go smaller if you have the 18 inch rim!

It’s jungle green, semi-new tires and new brakes. Was in a minor accident but the body is fixed and there are two panels that need paint but other than that the truck runs great. I just need to know how much it would sell for about. Any suggestions would help greatly!

I have a 2004 F-150 Fx4 Supercrew with the 5.4L that when i bought it the MSRP was $38,000 do you think 24,000 is an acceptable asking price for it?
it has no dents, scratches or anything perfect interior and 36,000 miles.

2005 ford f-150 fx4 with 60,000 miles a hissing noise stared today around 45 to 50 mph, and continues until i come to a stop then there is a popping sound like gear and popping back into place, and the gear popping back into place noise seems to be coming from the left front wheel,

also the 4×4 stoped working, i dont know if this was conected or just happend by chance at the same time?
