A: Call any ford dealer in any state that requires 2 plates (i.e. NY) and tell them you want a factory plate holder…OR hit up ebay for one.

A: You are mistaken on two counts, that you will actually improve the amount of air flowing into your engine and that a tuner or chip will do anything for you if you actually do.

It takes more than a cold air intake to make a performance improvement that you can feel. The air cleaner and exhaust have little to do with the volumetric efficiency that is was engineered into your engine at the factory, the MAF sensor could handle the change, if there was a change, without reprogramming the PCM, which is not legal to do.

Changing the back pressure of the exhaust and modifying the intake and/or removing or rendering useless the ACT sensor can actually cause the PCM to inject more fuel than it needs which will only cause your catalytic converter to overheat and basically self destruct.

Trying to hotrod a late model computer controlled engine by the uninformed can be very costly in the end, I don’t recommend it, even to the most interesting man alive! lol

Q: What areas of the underbody of the Ford F-150 FX4 skid plates cover?

A: Gnerally, skid plates will protect the front diff, oil pan, tranny pan, and the gas tank. I cant say specifically on the F150 but that is the general list. They keep the things holding liquids protected so that you dont puncture them and need a tow.

Q: My 2005 Ford F-150 FX4 has 3 recalls I never intend to get done, are these recalls dangerous cause me to die?
#1 recall, fuel injectors
#2 recall, cruse control
#3 recall, brake booster vacuum line

A: we can only hope the cruse control fire….oh never mind….of course you’r safe.

2005 ford f-150 fx4 with 60,000 miles a hissing noise stared today around 45 to 50 mph, and continues until i come to a stop then there is a popping sound like gear and popping back into place, and the gear popping back into place noise seems to be coming from the left front wheel,

also the 4×4 stoped working, i dont know if this was conected or just happend by chance at the same time?

It’s jungle green, semi-new tires and new brakes. Was in a minor accident but the body is fixed and there are two panels that need paint but other than that the truck runs great. I just need to know how much it would sell for about. Any suggestions would help greatly!

I am 15 and i just got my permit. My parents want me to have their FX4 F-150. It has 85,000 miles on it now and we have not driven it since Feb due to my parents getting new cars. I drove a little bit before and i can handle the truck well. It has a problem though. When we are about to park it will vibrate and if i dont rev it, it will cut off. Other than that, the truck has no problem. My parents didnt maintain and take care of it that well. I will take much care of it though. Im really stuck about taking it because of the mpg. I want to ask and talk about some things.

About the truck:
-85,000 mi.
-Big wheels (20 inch rims) and idk about tire size. probably 7 inches bigger than rims (idk but they are big but not monster truck big. ill get measurements later)
-2 tires were replaced in April of last year.
-New brake pads in May of last year.

Questions:

1)Refering to what I asked in the paragraph, what can be the problem?
2)Will it be cheap to maintain? (my parents will give me the money but im curious of the cost if i take it to Jiffy lube or something)
3) What upgrades should i do to it?
4) What changes should i make in the truck to get better MPG?

Q: I need better gas mileage on my 2002 Ford F-150 FX4 with a lift kit.?
On my last tank of gas I was only able to go about 240 miles and I have a 25 gallon tank (i think). So basically I am only getting 9-10 miles a gallon. Any thoughts on how I can get better gas mileage. (I dont speed or “gun it” when driving away from a stop light soo yeah)

A: LOL. You should probably park a Smart in the cargo bed and drive that around instead.

Seriously, you started out with a big, overweight, uneconomical truck and then modified it in ways that make it even bigger, heavier and less aerodynamic and then complain about its fuel consumption ! what did you expect would happen ???

Btw, if your tires are much larger than stock, the odometer is under-reading and you’re covering more distance with each tankful than you think.
