Q: Where can I buy a Ford Ranger truck bed?
I am looking for a 1989 Ford Ranger truck bed. It can be any color but preferably white. Max points for best answer!
A: Go to the junk yard
Q: What is the square footage of a Ranger truck bed?
Question is simple. Footage of a Ranger truck bed?
A: standard 6′ bed is about 27sq.ft.
Q: How long/hard is it to change air idle control on 96 ranger truck?
is this a simple repair, looks like it would be just removing the 4 bolts and replacing, but need to know if i should do anything additional when removing/replacing on the 1996 ranger truck.
A: Very easy. Disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the computer and just replace it.
Q: I have a problem with my Ford Ranger Truck?
At first the truck would rarely start. and when it did it wasn’t long before it cut out. I replaced the spark plugs, got a new distributer for it. and i’m absolutely sure its not the alternator. now the truck starts on occasion, but eventually shuts off. Other than that, it wont start at all. Does anyone have a solution to whats wrong with my Ford Ranger Truck?
Its also a stick shift if that helps.
engine i’m not sure of. but I know its an 88. so yea its 20 years old.
A: You have either the 2.3 4 cyl or the 2.9 V6.
Get an ACTRON scanner, about $30, and follow the directions to hook it up and test the vehicle.
It sounds like a fuel delivery problem since you replaced the ignition already.
Q: Where do I find instructions on how to install a remote start system for a 94 Ford Ranger Truck?
I want to install a remote start system for my 94 Ford Ranger, and I’m looking for detailed instructions on how to do that. The company where I purchased my equipment is called Vehicle Power Accessories. I checked their website, but they don’t have instructions. Where could I find instructions?
A: I’m suprised the instructions didn’t come with the kit. I would send it back and get one off of ebay. I got my for 48.00 with shipping and detailed instructions. It took me 1.5 hours to get it installed. Thats with 2 sandwiches, 4 beers and with 3 yes dear conversations.
Q: What could be causing a continual dinging sound on my 03 Ranger truck?
I have a 2003 Ranger that upon starting gives 5 dings every few seconds for 5 times and then will repeat series approx. every half hour. No warning lights, seatbelt and all doors are secure. Would appreciate any help on this.
A: I used to have an annoying dinging in my Ranger as well.
I don’t let my wife ride in the cab anymore!
Q: The speedometer and the mileage gage doesn’t work on my ford ranger truck?
I have a 1994 Ford Ranger and the speedometer doesn’t work. Can anyone help me with this? What could be the cause and is it an easy and cheap fix?
thanks!
A: Well if they are built into eachother, like the odometer is in the middle of the speedometer like most are, then it sounds like the gauge, whereas if it was just the speedo, then I would go with the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor).
Q: How does someone repair a Ford Ranger truck bed after collision?
I have been told that the bed is constructed of fiberglass. Is this true. And if so, can it be repaired. Damage occurred to left side of bed and almost made it impossible to reach gas tank opening.
A: Fiberglass is easy to repair. Stay away from the cheap PER (polyester resin) and CSM (chopped strand mat) kits you can get at Wal-Mart. Call a fiberglass company and order something that will work nicely.
You’ll want to grind away any un-usable pieces and sand the inside so where the fiberglass is going to adhere. Then use cardboard or that plastic yard sign board to block off the outside. If you use cardboard, then line it with waxpaper so the fiberglass doesn’t stick to it. Then apply fiberglass from the inside. When it cures, peel the cardboard off and it should be the shape you made with the cardboard.
Then sand it and use body filler to fill in any spots that need it. Then paint.
Q: Does anyone know how I can increase the power on my Ford Ranger truck?
It is a Ford Ranger 1998 3.0 v6 4×4. It feels like I have no power, I don’t really feel like selling it because its condition. Im young and like power and off-roading, how can I add some hp? Thanks!
A: You can get a few HP by just installing a K&N or other less-resrictive filter in the factory intake – cost is around $40. Your factory intake is already a “cold air” system; installing an aftermarket intake kit will make it look meaner, but won’t add any real power above what the filter alone will do, and you can mess up the MAF in the process – no fun.
Don’t believe the hype on performance chips. Their dyno charts never match up to the “25% HP GAIN!!!” they advertise, and they don’t always mention other tuning done to the vehicle. 10-20 HP is a reasonable guess as to HP gained on your engine.
There’s only so much you’re going to get out of the 3.0L V6 otherwise. A turbo/supercharger is a waste of time – for the money you’ll spend, you could just pay the difference and trade your truck up to a 4.0L V6.
A “Wet” NOS kit is a possibility – ZEX makes a kit for your engine for around $400. Using the smallest jets, you could safely gain 30-40 HP – overdo the juice, though, and you’ll buy yourself a trip to the wrecking yard. Actually, NOS is arguably a safer engine upgrade than a turbo or supercharger, since it cools the charge rather than heating it through compression.
In addition to headers, you could also look into a less-restrictive exhaust; converting to a Flowmaster 40 dual will add a few HP without too much ricer buzz.
In the end, if it’s HP you want and you like the Ranger, you’re probably better off trading up to a 4.0L V6. There’s just no substitute for cubic inches.
Q: If you installed a larger fuel injector in a Ford Ranger truck, how would it affect the mpg?
I am wanting to replace the stock fuel injectors. However, I was wondering if buy a larger fuel injector would lower my mpg or if it would increase my mpg? All information regarding fuel injectors and how they get clogged and fuel economy will be greatly appreciated.
A: My personal opinion is it would use more gasoline but on a normal running system, you really wouldn’t see the increase per say (as injectors are measured in flow plus how long they stay open).. it would cause the engine to run richer (and try to lean itself out to the point it will set a check engine light on a marginal system) but would it bring economy or power? nope unless you install other gear to help the fuel injectors do it’s job as optimized.
Q: How do you replace the outside door handle on a Ford Ranger truck?
The screws on the outside look like socket heads with a center round piece. Is this a fastener or a rivet? How do I get them out? Thanks for any help.
A: Those are rivets. To remove them will require drilling them out. Upon replacement, install new rivets. You didn’t specify the model year. Different model years require different procedures.
Q: Isn’t it true that Mazda makes roughly 50% of the Ford Ranger truck?
My little brother said to me last night, ‘why does it say Mazda on your truck?’ I said because Mazda makes some of the Ranger. Not the engine or anything like that, but some of the truck is made and put together by Mazda.
Aren’t I right here?
Yeah I have a V6 which means Mazda just maybe made the bedliner.
A: The exact year has a major bearing on this issue!
This is a “Co-venture” by Ford and Mazda. With stipulations on what options could be used by what name was going on it.
The same is true for the old Ford Bronco II and its Mazda counter part (and its replacement/s).
What bothered me was the use of Mitsubishi parts in these lines. Now there is a car company I just don’t trust.
The break over year for interchange for the Ranger and B series is 1994 by the way. Who knows after the current model year.
Q: How do I transform my ford ranger truck to work on natural gas?
I know they do it in mexico but can I have it done in the u.s.
A: Google CNG Conversion Kits.

Q: Can a 200 inline 6 be swapped into a 87 Ranger Pick up truck?
I want to swap an inline 6 into my Ranger pick up truck. I want to use one of a 80’s Mustang. It is a 2 wheel drive truck if that matters.
A: the engine bay is probably to short.. check with the Ranger Station..
Q: What are the inside measurments of a late model ford ranger truck bed?
